B&B close to Town & BayPosted Apr 14, 2014
The Headlands Inn is a lovely, historical building with great gardens. The breakfasts are amazing. The staff is very helpful and aware of special events going on in town and nearby. The rooms are spacious and bright.

Friendly spot in MendocinoPosted Oct 28, 2013
We enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was excellent both days. We enjoyed the fireplace as well. The biggest issue was that both my wife and I found the featherbed to be uncomfortable (with a mountain in the middle of the bed). The staff was very friendly and helpful. If they solved yhe bed issue I'd give it a solid 4.

Relaxing retreat, great breakfastsPosted Aug 18, 2013
Pros: The friendly staff, the climate, the comfort of the room, the view from our bedroom window, the fog horn off in the distance and the breakfasts
Cons: The shower was a little hard to get into and out of. Because of space constraints, I'm not sure much can be done about it.
Location: We enjoyed the botanical garden just south of Mendocino and walking on the headlands. Shopping is also available for those so inclined.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the fact that we could just park and walk everywhere we needed/wanted to go in town or to the Mendocino headlands. Breakfast is served in your room, a pleasant way to wake up each morning. We will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful view of the waves crashing on the bluffsPosted Jun 11, 2013
Pros: Peaceful, yet right in town. Also, Breakfast in Bed!
We loved everything about this Inn. The food was beautifully presented and there was Sherry and Candy in the reading room! Beautiful fireplace in the room to keep us very warm and cozy. We had the large room overlooking the ocean.

First time at a B&BPosted May 29, 2013
There is nothing bad that I could said about this place. We call and said that we will be arriving late around 8:30 pm and the owner waited for us. Breakfest was excellant. The view of the ocean was great. If we every get back that way we will be staying there again.

Very pleasant vacationPosted Jan 4, 2013
Pros: very quaint, nicely decorated
Cons: no central dinning room
Location: central location near good restaurants
Our stay was very pleasant and comfortable. The upstairs room was especially nice with a fireplace. The breakfasts were tasty and nicely presented. They packed us an early leave breakfast our last day. I highly recommend the B&B.

Outstanding accommodation in MendocinoPosted Nov 12, 2012
Pros: Warm friendly Inn Keepers with a wonderful kitchen.
Cons: Nothing really, ability to make hot drinks early and late would be a bonus.
Location: Very individual old village on the cliff tops over looking the ocean. Some interesting buildings, shops and good restaurants. Very friendly.
The warm and friendly welcome you receive as you arrive at Headlands Inn suggests that you may have made the right choice of accommodation for a visit to Mendocino. By the time you have sampled the freshly baked cookies that are brought to you still warm as you have a refreshing cup of tea / coffee in the snug little lounge, you are fairly sure. You may compare notes with your fellow guests over the complimentary (and never empty) decanter of sherry before you go to dinner in one of the many excellent restaurants in the town. But when you return to your well appointed room (open fireplace, well decorated, bathrobes etc) and sink into a warm and comfortable bed, you know you have made a good choice. All that remains is for you to enjoy the superb hot breakfast that is brought discretely to your room the next morning. If you are lucky enough to stay more than one night, you begin to believe that everyday is like this at Headlands!

Great Romantic GetawayPosted Oct 3, 2012
Quaint little B&B right in the middle of Mendocino. Perfect choice for a weekend getaway with my wife. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room we had, Annie's room, was small, but acceptable. The bed wasn't very comfy, however. Enjoyed the free afternoon tea and cookies. The best part? Breakfast in bed. The peach french toast was literally the best breakfast we've had in years. Amazing. Would come back again.

Like being home, but better!Posted Aug 23, 2012
Pros: Very relaxing, comfortable, and interesting.
Cons: Couldn't afford to stay more than one night this trip.
Location: Mendocino is full of old homes turned into shops and B&B's. The focus is on art rather than typical beach activities. Beautiful scenery!
This was probably the most relaxing stay in our two week vacation. The owners made us feel right at home in our comfortable and beautiful room (Bessie Straus). They take the time for the extra touches that made this stay special, i.e. refrigerator filled with water and snacks, fresh flowers to decorate our room and breakfast tray, newspaper, and an amazing breakfast. We loved the fact that our room overlooked the garden, with a view of the ocean.

Mendocino GemPosted Aug 16, 2012
Cons: On street parking
Location: Perfect: Near everything, but not too near.
A gem of a B&B located within easy walking distance of the downtown area. Exceptionally friendly and helpful innkeeper and staff. The breakfasts are delivered to the rooms each morning and are truly gourmet - far exceeded our expectations. Our daughter and her husband stayed in another room here, and were equally pleased.
