Much more than I expected

Posted Nov 28, 2014
I am always made welcome with my 3 dogs. Ocean across the street, clean, 24 hour fitness with heated pool, microwave, fridge, iron, blow dryer, free Wi-Fi, and a restaurant in the parking lot. All this for $55 night. I wish I lived closer so I could go more often. If you aren't staying at motel 6, you're taking chances with your money and your peace of mind.

A balanced accommodation.

Posted Nov 3, 2014
Pros: it was clean.
Cons: Bring back the gift shop.
Location: Glass Beach, Fort Bragg & Mendocino Headlands, Noyo Harbor, several state parks with lovely hiking and beach access. Many local shops and restaurants.
Although not a "premiere" motel, it offers a safe place to rest while enjoying Fort Bragg and the surrounding area. I thought it odd they offered an in-room hair dryer, iron, microwave and minifridge, but NOT a clock of any sort, shampoo or a 2-person coffee pot and coffee. (They offered coffee in the lobby but it was a cold, windy evening and walking in the dark to the office next door was not much of an option just for a couple cups of coffee). I washed my hair with their tiny bar of soap, drank lukewarm instant coffee in a plastic cup (they provide) and used my cell phone for a clock. On the upside, it was clean, smelled pleasant, and when I called later to say I had left my cell phone charger in the room, they were very friendly, offered to mail it. It is a shame they closed the gift shop there though, since we had forgotten aspirin, batteries for our cameras and needed a pair of shorts so we could use the swimming pool and hot tub. I will recommend this motel to others but I'll be sure they know about the extra things to bring to make the stay more comfortable. With the lodging in Fort Bragg either very expensive and hardly worth the enormous price for a room with a view, and the rundown, musty motels and B&Bs...I found this motel a very well balanced accommodation.

Ft Bragg CA

Posted Oct 15, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Almost everything. Have stayed at this property before it was a Motel six and found it quite acceptable. Not so much now.
Location: Ft Bragg is cute but limited. We were there for the Abolone feed which is overpriced but fills the town. Mendocino is nearby.
My reservation for two rooms was not honored. One room simply couldn't be found the other room was wrong, TWICE!. Call in the evening to wake me up to ask who I was since they had booked under the wrong name. Beds like rocks so woke with a back ache. Management did provide a discount for the errors BUT....

Nice motel

Posted Oct 7, 2014
Pros: Reasonably priced, clean,friendly staff.
Cons: Beds could be softer.
Location: Centrally located. The beach, restaurants,5 minutes to down town.
Front desk people were very nice. Very friendly, gave us helpful info. Checked into our room, it was clean, pretty comfortable. Nice big shower. I would definitely stay here again. I would also recommend it to my friends.

Room smelled like a smoker

Posted Sep 29, 2014
Not a bad stay, but asked for a non-smoking room. Room, and bed sheets, smelled like a smoker. To a non-smoker, that rancid smell is awful and of course it clings to your skin, clothes, and anything else you bring into the room for the rest of the trip.
