A bit disappointing

Posted Jul 10, 2014
Pros: ocean view
Cons: Deferred maintenance is lacking. Lots of just minor repairs could bring hotel back to the way it used to be.
Location: Mendocino, Restaurants in Fort Bragg go to Egghead Omelette, wait is worth it
I used to frequently stay at this property. This time was just overnite. Room, clean Faucet in bathroom not bolted down Sink backed up No place to plug in computer, in fact, tv, microwave, and refrig all running off extension cord. I guess would say rather disappointed in care of hotel and this was ocean view room

Pine Beach Inn Fort Bragg,Ca.

Posted Jul 6, 2014
The view of the Ocean from the room's back porch as great. You could also hear the waves. The whole facility was very old. Wood deck around the office was in poor condition. The room had a toilet seat that was barely attached. The towel rack in the room was missing. One towell rack mount was still on the wall. The bathroom floor had cracks. The room had a couple of nice chairs and a small table. The carpet seemed clean and the beds were clean. The bathroom was clean but all the fictures are very old. The bed was comfortable. The continental breakfast was very poor and the office for the breakfast was not open until 8 a.m. The coffee was absolutely horrible. Not drinkable. The small area where the breakfast was served was very crowded with 12 to 15 people all at once. We requested a downstairs room and they did grant us that request.

convenient and affordable

Posted Jul 1, 2014
Location: close to Mendocino without the big pricetag
we stayed 2 nights - our room, while older, was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom had a small, walk-in shower, good for anyone with difficulties walking. The room was large, with 2 comfortable chairs and a small table. Also a small refrigerator was provided. Quiet, clean, not fancy, but suited our needs and budget perfectly.

Nice Hotel. Beach access.

Posted Jun 24, 2014
Pros: Clean rooms, beach access, and nice grassy area, and gazebo to sit in. Also has tennis courts, for those who enjoy the sport.
Cons: Coffee in room, their breakfasts, and the coffee in office.
Location: Just south of Fort Bragg. Botanical gardens near by. Other points of interest to go to, to enjoy the ocean at. Mendocino Village just south of Hotel.
Hotel was clean, and staff was friendly and always ready to please us. We had a jacuzzi tub in our room which was a big surprise, and enjoyed it very much, although it took forever to fill it, as not enough water was coming out of faucet. They have a beautiful beach to enjoy right there, without having to leave the premises. One thing we were disappointed in, was their breakfast. Just had toast, baggels, and cold cereal. Would have been nice if they would have had hardbouled eggs, maybe fruit, hot cereal, or pancakes, or something like that. Coffee was lousy. They would be better off not offering breakfast.

Clean, basic and quiet.

Posted Jun 19, 2014
Pros: Price, quiet room, cleanliness and the beach is stunning - out of town location is a bonus for those who like peace and quiet
Cons: A simple ceiling fan could make ventilation perfect and maybe a clock radio.
Location: Fort Bragg - major tourist destination on highway 1 with spectacular sea cliff access, beautiful sandy beaches and ample dining opportunites
Room was clean, bed comfortable and location just out of town is very quiet - able to sleep with windows open. Basic room is well priced (non Ocean View room) very open spacious motel area with truly beautiful ocean beach and sea stack cliffs only 400m down a local pathway.

Old motel with their own private beach

Posted May 31, 2014
This is a great get away if you really want to get away. There is scant cell phone reception and the free breakfast isn't available until 7:30 which didn't work for me because I was on a business trip and had to be out by 7:30. No coffee in the room so I had to race to Starbucks in Fort Bragg before my first appt. However, the last day I was there, I had a chance to visit their private beach which is awesome. The staff was friendly and very helpful when I left some food behind. They offered to keep it for me until I could get back there.
