Great place to check out in MendocinoPosted Oct 8, 2014
Pros: Nice grounds
Cons: Hard mattress and bedding
Location: Great location right near downtown Mendocino
This place is city and excellent caring staff! The vegetarian food is not for us so we ate elsewhere for dinner but breakfast was good. The bed was hard and not as comfy as we would have liked. But beatiful surroundids and service!!

Very relaxing!Posted Nov 7, 2013
Pros: Nice rooms and friendly staff.
Location: Mendocino, CA is a great little seaside town with lots of character and beauty.
Very nice property with friendly staff and beautiful grounds in an excellent location. Being able to bike and canoe from the property is great. The restaurant is all vegan though, but was good for breakfast for this carnivore!

Unique.....loved it!Posted Oct 21, 2013
Pros: Rooms very likeable ........service and surrounding gardens very attractive.
Cons: Wish I had better idea about Oceanview.
Location: Beautiful part of the country..... Drove to coast to see sunset.....
Vegan dining !My husband did not want to have dinner without the meat or fish option.....so we ate dinner elsewhere. Breakfast was wonderful!! Grounds were beautiful! Rooms cosy and uniquely wonderful. Was dissapointed in view of ocean. We could hardly see any water......this was the only dissapointment of our stay.Like it was way in the distance, had to stand on tippy toes and look hard to see it. Staff said we could have seen it better from next floor up(?) very much a strech to say it was "Ocean View"! Was enjoyable......but somewaht misleading.

Lots to do close byPosted Sep 29, 2013
Pros: Wood burning fireplace in the rooms.
Location: Ocean, seafood, walks, biking, canoes, shopping and art stores.
Nice hotel and the staff were very helpful. The reserved room was not right but the staff did their best to accommodate. The grounds and facilities are great ( large garden, hot tub, indoor pool, fireplaces in room, etc). It is at the mouth of a river into the sea with canoe rentals to go up river.Bikes were also included with our room. It is close to Mendocino and the ocean. The restaurant (vegan only) has goods breakfast which is included but we never tried dinner as there are plenty of excellent ones nearby and in Fort Bragg (8 miles north)

Pros: Hospitality, food, cleanliness, amenities.
Location: See above.
It's hard to describe the feeling that we experienced at the Stanford Inn. It's a very peaceful place in a location on the Pacific coast. The hotel supplies firewood for your room. It has a great vegan restaurant with delicious food, even if you're nut a carrot cruncher, and has a full bar. The town is from the gold rush and timber wood era. Good food there too. There's a craggy cavey coastline that's fun to walk on and totally beautiful. You can take a nice ride to the state park to see the tallest redwood in California, presently. We enjoyed the river ride with beautiful blue herons and river otters. Bring your fleece.
