“Will definitely visit again.”
Everyone very friendly and accommodating. Dinner in their restaurant was excellent and dining room very cozy. The inn was decorated so nicely for the holidays, and the fire in the fireplace in the lobby/dining room made it very inviting. We had a specially made breakfast which was very nice, especially since we had to be on the road by a certain time in the morning.
“Lots of bang for the buck”
My wife and I could not have been more satisfied with the experience. The staff was eager to accomodate our every need. And the breakfasts were delicious!
“wonderful time at the Mountainview Lodge”
We arrived on the Friday evening before Irene hit on Sunday. Many guests had already canceled their reservations, so it was very quiet. We were very warmly welcomed. We had a lovely room with a view of the mountain behind the lodge. It was quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was included, and was very good. We had eggs, bacon, waffles, hash browns, fresh fruit, and all kinds of bread/muffin/bagel options. The dining area was pleasant. After hiking and canoeing all day on Saturday, we enjoyed some wine (that we brought) on the deck. No one else was around. The next morning we woke up to pouring rain. We enjoyed our breakfast again, and took our time leaving. But it's good that we left when we did, since the road was later washed out. The hotel staff was wonderful. We were able to leave our ice packs in their freezer, and our leftover food in their fridge. Not sure how different it would be if the place was full, but we sure enjoyed the peace and quiet.
“As advertised”
Great hotel, owners Bryan and Stacey were most accomodating. Excellent location for skiing or touring central Vermont. Views of Killington and Pico are outstanding, sitting on the patio in the fall would be a dream. An excellent value, wonderful amenities (sauna, hot tub, game room, pool). A great choice for a visit to the Killington/Pico area
“great stay”
We enjoyed the area and hotel accomodations. The complimentary breakfast included a variety of items (not just danish) from quiche to oatmeal to yogurt. It was nicely maintained and we were welcome to sit in the restaurant that overlooks Killington Mt., a nice way to start the morning.
“Great Place”
The owners were great! The view was fantastic! Loved the area. Their restaurant was not open so they referred a little Irish pub ( McGraths ) up the hill. Awesome food, entertainment and ambiance! Would defiantly stay at Mountainview again!
“Great Place”
The staff was very friendly. The hotel was clean. The breakfast was very good. We used the pool and the game room and both were very nice. The rooms are a little outdated but not too old. There were some minor maintenance issues (toilet continued to fill, shower head did not adjust well). A refrigerator in the room would have been nice, but they do have an ice machine in the building so we made do.
“great experience”
The staff was friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was exceptional. The bed was very comfortable. Only far more expensive accomodations would have been better.
“Decent Stay”
So Mendon Mountainview lodge is old. The walls are paper thin, and the rooms are a little bit dated. Oh well. With the negatives out of the way, Heli's restaurant was excellent, the included breakfast was absolutely killer. I don't know that I'd want to stay for a week in that room, it was a very stripped down 2 bed hotel room, perhaps they have larger accommodations with kitchens. Good water pressure. Free WiFi is cool, and even large chains that can absolutely afford it gauge you for it, so that was a nice plus. MML was no more than 15 minutes from anything that we needed, all of the restaurants and mountains were super close. Didn't get to check out the spa or hot tub, forgot our suits. Looked nice though. Would definitely stay again, preferably off of a holiday weekend and pay a little less.
“You get what you pay for...”
Ok place - you get what you pay for and it was less expensive than the hotels closer to Killington. Thought fireplace was a big plus when booking, but it turned out you could only burn a Duraflame log in it. Would've been nice to know that before choosing that room. Room was non-smoking, but reeked of stale smoke. Breakfast buffet was the best part. King bed was very comfy and my husband and I slept well, but the "sofa bed" (as advertised) was a small, lumpy futon that made my sons miserable. Probably wouldn't stay here again given all the other choices around.
