“Killington weekend”

It was what I expected for the price (which was the best around). It was cozy and breakfast was quite nice.

“wonderful time at the Mountainview Lodge”

We arrived on the Friday evening before Irene hit on Sunday. Many guests had already canceled their reservations, so it was very quiet. We were very warmly welcomed. We had a lovely room with a view of the mountain behind the lodge. It was quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was included, and was very good. We had eggs, bacon, waffles, hash browns, fresh fruit, and all kinds of bread/muffin/bagel options. The dining area was pleasant. After hiking and canoeing all day on Saturday, we enjoyed some wine (that we brought) on the deck. No one else was around. The next morning we woke up to pouring rain. We enjoyed our breakfast again, and took our time leaving. But it's good that we left when we did, since the road was later washed out. The hotel staff was wonderful. We were able to leave our ice packs in their freezer, and our leftover food in their fridge. Not sure how different it would be if the place was full, but we sure enjoyed the peace and quiet.

“Decent Stay”

So Mendon Mountainview lodge is old. The walls are paper thin, and the rooms are a little bit dated. Oh well. With the negatives out of the way, Heli's restaurant was excellent, the included breakfast was absolutely killer. I don't know that I'd want to stay for a week in that room, it was a very stripped down 2 bed hotel room, perhaps they have larger accommodations with kitchens. Good water pressure. Free WiFi is cool, and even large chains that can absolutely afford it gauge you for it, so that was a nice plus. MML was no more than 15 minutes from anything that we needed, all of the restaurants and mountains were super close. Didn't get to check out the spa or hot tub, forgot our suits. Looked nice though. Would definitely stay again, preferably off of a holiday weekend and pay a little less.

“Good family place w/ outside pool”

Clean comfortable rooms. Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Family game room downstairs. An inside hot tub which was great for after skiing. Great location for Pico Mountain. interconnecting rooms. Overall, a good place for the family. If your looking for the modern up to date place, this isn't it.

“Off Season”

We were there at the end of the busy season, hence the lack of dining, and breakfast.

“An excellent experience and a lovely holiday”

I had a very enjoyable 5 night stay at this lodge in april 2012.It was very quiet (I think I was the only guest some nights) and that meant there was no food provided by the lodge which was a bit of an issue (hence the 4 stars overall). But the owners Brian and Stacey (thanks to both) were excellent hosts and gave me plenty of ideas where to eat.I would particularly recommend Sugar and Spice (on the way to Rutalnd) who do great breakfasts and lunches and make you feel very welcome.Rutland has lots of places to eat.The lodge is a great base for skiing (Pico is about 1 mile up the road;Killington is about 5 miles),and hiking. The snow was very limited whilst I was there (until the penultimate day when we had about 1 foot of the stuff!) but I would love to go to New England again and if I manage that I will certainly consider staying here. The Lodge is easy to get to from Boston airport (about 160 miles) and parking is free. The bedroom was huge and the bed really comfortable-a bonus.
