The hosts were extremely welcoming, yet transparent, just like it needs to be. Great location, I will try to visit again soon.

Relaxed and Welcoming

Posted Aug 26, 2014
We stayed here for three nights during the Timberman Half-Ironman. Our room was at the back of the house and had a lovely view of the lake and mountains, including the sunset. Our hosts, Brian and Lynn, made our stay very comfortable. They made you feel relaxed, like you were staying with family, including Newton, the golden retriever, who loves having his belly scratched. The Ballard House Inn is delightful and you can tell it was renovated with love and care. I don’t think I have ever been in a cleaner establishment. While the majority of the inn maintains the look of the 1780’s, when it was built, the bathrooms added for each room have modern fixtures. I have to admit, this is the first time I have ever experienced a toilet with a breathtaking view. :)  The inn is located near the road, so there is some road noise, but it lessened at night. You also have to remember that you are staying in a place that is 230 years old, so there are some squeaks and creaks when people are moving around, but that is part of the charm of staying in place with character. Our breakfasts were yummy and Lynn and Brian even made sure we had breakfast at 4 a.m. before heading off to the race. They also have a Keurig available for hot drinks and mini-fridge with cold beverages available 24/7. Snacks and sweets are also set out in case you have the munchies. This is a beautiful part of New Hampshire and if we make it back this way, we will stay at the Ballard House Inn.

Inn keepers went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. Their inn is kept in perfect condition with fresh paint, thick towels, tidy public spaces, and excellent food, snacks, and service

The inn was immaculate and charming. The owners are friendly and attentive! They offer lots of great little extras that make you feel welcome. It was a fantastic experience and we have already booked two additional stays with them. We highly recommend The Ballard House Inn!

I would come again

Pros: everthing
Cons: nothing to improve!
Location: Central New Hampshire--it speaks for itself,
Lynn and Brian really put themselves out to be good hosts and it shows. We had a great time (5 nights) and the view from their back veranda is exceptional. Recommened them and their B and B highly.

Fabulous B&B

Lynn and Brian were awesome hosts. The house is beautiful and in great condition, everything looked brand new. They know everything about the area and will help you plan your day. They want to ensure that everyone has a great time. The location is about a mile from Meredith, but very centrally located. It was easy to get to all the surrounding towns. They are also great at recommending places to eat, and are very accommodating with breakfast. There were a few vegetarians staying and the food was awesome. I would highly recommend and will definitely stay there again.

Nice Little B&B

Posted Oct 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
Hosts Brian and Lynn were very hospitable and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. The bed was heavenly, the Turkish bath towels luxuriant and location convenient. They served us a nice waffle breakfast and helped us with our heavy luggage up the steep stairs. The only negative, if there was one, is the water pressure in the shower was low (and a little traffic noise from the adjacent street). Overall, it was a nice place to stay and I would definitely go there again.

Sadly we only had one night here but enjoyed the whole experience, the beautiful old home, our comfortable room, the delicious breakfast, the view, the attentive and friendly inn-keepers Brian and Lynn, and their delightful dog. Would happily stay again or recommend anyone else to.
