A Great Pleasure to stay herePosted Sep 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
Everything was as it should be, and recently they improved service by making internet service free. Since the rooms open up onto a vast dome overlooking the lobby and restaurants, you get a sense of space that you do not get in an ordinary hotel corridor. Just walking around the building to see the shops and Sanborns is entertaining. I recommend the hotel highly.

We where going for 1 night stayed 2 more!Posted Aug 22, 2013 on Hotels.com
Like always Fiesta Americana is amazing! The service is always spot on and the beds!!!!! They are oh so comfortable. We booked 1 night only and ended up staying 2 more nights! It is in a great location. Staff was super friendly. If you go to the pool ask for Erik he really does an effort to serve you fast and good. Eventhough there is no bar at the pool area he made sure we got our requests very fast. Everytime we ordered the car they had it waiting and any other request was answer almos immediately. Food is amazing too! try the Tuna tacos al pibil DELICIOUS! Also, room service was fantastic. What else can I say it is a great hotel for a great price.

I will never go back!!!Posted Aug 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
From the start it was a nightmare. We changed rooms three times in less than 5 hours. First they lied to us at the time of registering. Indicating that they had no rooms with king size beds. They first assigned us to a smoking room and they tried to convince us that it was a nonsmoking room but the smell and the ashtrays and matches indicated otherwise. After our complaint they moved us to another room (still a two bed room). After unpacking we discovered that the room (and specially the bathroom) was filthy and poorly maintained. We moved again and guess what! They moved us to a room with a KING SIZE BED! Still that room was poorly decorated and we had to move furniture around to make it look more attractive. The room was in need of maintenance, the furniture with scratches all over. Their response to our complaints the following day was acceptable. They tried to fix everything but the damage was done. From an architectonic point of view hotel itself is a jewel but poor service, lack of maintenance and low wages to overworked and demoralized employees (one tenth of the US minimum wage) are killing that building.

Beautiful Hotel in All AspectsPosted Jul 31, 2013
Pros: I loved the architectural design, the decor, the pool, the friendly accomodating staff, and the buffet very much.
Cons: I cannot think of anything that needed improvement.
Location: Central location and easy access to taxis to take you anywhere you need.
My husband and I came to Merida for a wedding of my former foreign exchange student from Merida. We enjoyed the strikingly beautiful hotel with every amenity imaginable. The buffet was delicious, and everything was immaculate. Our room was spacious and comfortable, offering us a restful retreat at the end of the day. I would certainly recommend Fiesta Americana to anyone who is seeking a beautiful, esthetically pleasing place to stay while in Merida. Being in a central location, we found shops and restaurants near enough when we wanted to be away from the hotel. Everyone there was kind and polite. We certainly enjoyed our stay very much.

Reliable high standard of service best breakfastPosted Jun 11, 2013
Pros: Breakfast Buffet
Location: Absolut best with a shopping area below
The hotel is as fantastic as it always has been. It's very reassuring to get the same high standard of service every time I visit, no matter if a complete year has gone by. As always, location is pretty much the best. Rooms are clean and comfortable, not luxurious but in accordance to the 4stars. Breakfast buffet at the main restaurant is fantastic. Watch out; club-rooms do include a continental breakfast in their own lounge which is not the Breakfast Buffet. Overall, good value for money.

Fiesta AmericanaPosted Jun 1, 2013
Pros: Clean room
Overall, experience was good but just want to caution those to review their final bill before checkout. I was charged for incidentals which I did not use. After speaking with hotel staff, they assured me that the charge would be removed but offered no explanation as to why the charges appeared in the first place.

Going HOME!Posted May 19, 2013
Awesome experience as always. LOVE LOVE LOVE the welcome home feel. Room was a bit worn this time - the deadbolt lock was missing.....and the PHONE was out of order. Didn't really need either. Hopefully maintenance fixes these issues promptly!
