The property is very beautiful, so no complaints there. However, the WiFi never worked and the room had a TV with only two channels and both had some much noise that they were impossible to watch. Due to the limited dining choices on the property (they only serve breakfast from 7-10 am), we had to eat once across the highway at a very overpriced location. If you have a car, I would recommend driving to Santa Elena or Ticul to find dining options.

Excellent location across from Uxmal ruins. Very interesting history of the Hacienda as well, including famous people such as Queen Elizabeth who stayed there! Breakfast was delicious and pool cocktails were also great. Grounds are beautiful and filled with colorful birds. Staff was accommodating. Don't expect uber modern luxury.

Quiet and safe place, located very close the Uxmal ruins. Very nice old Hacienda, with lovely gardens and surrounded by nature. Our room had a fantastic view of the adjacent green areas. Bathroom with tub was in excellent condition. Be aware that dinner and lunch are held in the restaurant that is slightly farther from hotel, near the entrance to Uxmal; you'll will need to drive but it's no big deal. Also, pool is not heated. Overall, great experience. We will definitely go back.

Weekend Retreat
Super relaxing weekend getaway from Merida. Rooms really nice, lots of outdoor seating. Pool was great. Not many dining options around. Breakfast at hotel was quite good. Will definitely come stay again.

The Hacienda Uxmal is beautiful, charming, comfortable and clean. It is a perfect location to stay as you explore the Uxmal Ruins and travel the Ruta Puuc.

Advertised wifi but it was barely good enough for email. Service dropped every 30 seconds regardless of which router on the property you sat next too. No bicycles as advertised. Restaurant is only open for breakfast. You have to cross a dangerous road in the dark to get to the only restaurant that's open at the resort by the ruins. Property itself is beautiful and the pool is very nice. We left a day early because without wifi I couldn't work and my wife couldn't study. Property told us they'd give a refund for the 2nd night but have only gotten a run around from them and Expedia who each blame the other but neither will call the other and leave me as the middle man between what he said and what she said. Would not stay there again.

Our last stay was early 2020 before the pandemic. Now it's minimalist There is no lunch or dinner service There is only breakfast service by the pool There is no lunch or dinner available requiring you to walk or drive across the highway or down the road No welcome drink, as advertised If television is important, forget it. Only 3 snowy channels with an antenna, not satellite, as advertised Some rooms have a safe, others do not, so you may want to check/specify when booking The staff is friendly and attentive.

We enjoyed our stay at The Hacienda. Our rooms were clean, the bedding was great, and staff was courteous and helpful, but they allowed a family to play ball in the pool. This family was playing rough and tangled my 5-year-old in their playful brawl. My husband asked them to be careful but they continued. There was enough staff around to notice and no one jumped in to stop them. It was a shame. It made my experience unpleasant especially since I mentioned it to the reception and the family continued their game with a ball the next day. I didn’t bother to enter the pool again.

Oh Yes THERE ARE MANY things to do ! The CHOCOLATE MUSEUM, a 3 to 4 hour visit replete with interactive activities, tastings, a Zoo with local species. Our Extensive, 600 acre Plantation with one of the world's largest specimens of citrus and tropical fruits. Free entrance & tastings as our Hacienda Guests. Vintage Land Rovers that can take you to Cenotes, Mayan villages, Colonial towns, Convents, Haciendas, and some of the most spectacular caves in the world, just minutes from our Hacienda. If you devote a whole week to all that surrounds us you will barely have enough time. And yes, our beautiful Hacienda is relaxing, so maybe a 10 day stay is appropriate. Thanks for your visit

A little piece of heaven
We love this hotel. We’ve stayed many times. It’s in a great location to visit the ruins but also has a calming magical feel all on its own. I’d highly recommend asking for Luis and taking the Range Rover plantation tour. It’s a must do.

We wished we stayed more days at Uxmal!
The Lodge at Uxmal (across the street from and associated with Hacienda Uxmal Plantation) is on the grounds at Uxmal ruins. Fabulous location! The best hospitality and people! Luis (the concierge), Marco (the bartender), Jorge (our guide), Guadalupe (the host), and the manager and all the staff were all super friendly and helpful. We could not have had a better time visiting the ruins and enjoying Mayan cuisine and hospitality. Uxmal is an area that deserves multiple days! Muchas gracias a todos!

Relaxing Jungle Retreat
Our stay here was absolutely perfect. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Lovely pool. Friendly staff. The location was great. We were able to walk to the archaeological site, the Chocolate museum, and the Planetarium. The property was all around perfect. The only drawback (and it's no fault of the hotel) was the Americans with the bratty kids (constantly screaming and pouting and playing videos in the restaurant at the dinner table without regard for others). We stayed in the Lodge and not the actual historic plantation (which was closed due to low occupancy from Covid). No matter, it was really a great place to come back to after a few days of adventuring.

Excellent service. The staff was all very friendly and accommodating. Everything was pristine, peaceful and beautiful. A wonderful haven to escape to and so conveniently located right in front of the ruins. Because of COVID, we actually stayed in the Lodge at Uxmal and not where we made the booking. (It was a free upgrade as the properties are owned by the same people). The only aspect that I would say could use improvement is the restaurant. The food was medium. But overall, this was a most excellent stay and would definitely recommend for anyone visiting Uxmal. It’s worth staying a night out here!!

It was great.. checkin was a little confusing as we didn’t know where to go as parts of resort are shut down including main reception. But we drove around and eventually found someone to help us. Checkin was at the restaurant.

The Whole Enchilada!
Amazing, amazing on every level! Location, location, location, is everything so they say and how true in this instance. After driving the Ruta Puuc finding several of the Mayan temples closed due to Co-Vid, we hoped that Uxmal would be open to the public. When we arrived we were warmly greeted and informed that the temple's entrance opened at 8am and we were a short walk away from its entrance. Fantastic! Easy accessible parking was available, 2 large pools set in idyllic gardens and the most accommodating staff at every turn. The food was outstanding and we made sure to order local specialties. We also took the time to visit the Choc Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary located also conveniently within walking distance of the hotel. So thankful we had the foresight to book 2 nights in this remarkable place! Oh, my, forgot to even mention the luxurious rooms!

Colonial Charm minutes from ancient ruins
Hacienda Uxmal is very conveniently located near the ruins of ancient Uxmal and provides a relaxing colonial style setting in which to relax after a day of climbing up and down the ruins. I was especially delighted to discover a new cocktail which really ought to break out into the wider world; the Tamarind Daiquiri. They did a delightful flambe of crab soup at my table (who doesn't love a little fire?). Breakfasts were accompanied by a basket of fresh warm rolls. The iguana who lives in the palm tree shown ninth picture displays all his prehistoric charms for admirers lounging around the pool (quite tame...looking for a handout). What is not to love about this place!
