Much better hotels in town for same price

Posted Apr 10, 2014
Pros: The breakfast was sweet bread, fruit and coffee in a nice terrace. The people that work in the front desk and in the restaurant were also nice.
Room was super hot, AC was old and very loud so could not be used at night. Water from both cold and hot tap comes out boiling hot. Overall, a recipe for a bad nights sleep. We only stay there one night, next day we find a much better hotel in the same area for the same price.

Quiet & Comfortable, yet close to all the Action!

Posted Feb 21, 2014
My girlfriend and I stayed at Hotel Posada Toledo from February 12th - 19th while visiting in and around Merida. We originally booked for only 3 nights, but kept extending our stay because of the wealth of activities to do in the region. The hotel is only a few blocks from the main square, so you are close to all of the action, but without the noise. We stayed in room 21 (located at the end of the hall on the 2nd floor) and we were very pleased with how spacious it was. We even did a workout in it one morning! The shower was a bit on the weak side, but the cable TV definitely made up for it as we were able to catch some Olympic highlights after a long day. While the staff don't understand much English (except for the owner's son), everyone was always pleasant and helpful. Our stay came with a complimentary daily breakfast served in their charming colonial courtyard which included a generous portion of fresh papaya fruit, tea (or coffee), and a variety of sweet breads. There is an a-la-carte menu available, but since we were on a budget, we stuck to the free stuff. It did became a bit boring, but we were satisfied. Admittedly, the rooms could use a bit of updating and some of the decor is somewhat creepy, but overall, for the level of comfort (the mattresses are exceptionally comfortable and the room was dark and quiet at night), you really can't go wrong at this price-point. The main downside is there is no on-site parking, but this was a non-issue for us back-packers.

Charming rooms in the historical center

Posted Jan 8, 2014
Pros: it's certainly not a luxury hotel, but it's charming and feels authentic.
Cons: only downside would be that you can definitely hear car alarms and such from the street.
Location: Right in the historical center- not far from Plaza Grande, Plaza San Lucia, museums. Restaurants and convenience stores, souvenir stores nearby.
very cute hotel close to the action of the historical center of Merida. Breakfast for us was papaya and sweet pastries with juice or coffee/tea. Everything was very clean, room was spacious. A/C and fan were both an option. We had a very pleasant stay. Staff didn't have the greatest grasp of English, but communication was easy through google translate.

Beautiful colonial rooms

Great location - close to the centre. We stayed in a beautiful high ceiling colonial room, although not sure if they're all the same.

Nice hotel close to the Cathedral, and downtown

Posted Oct 24, 2013
Pros: The hotel is comfortable and very close to all amenities.
Cons: The floors in the room and washroom should be wash daily. They do broom and maybe wash the floors every week. That was the only thing I did not like
Location: If you have a tight budget and needs a safe and nice place this is the one, great location. Hotel looks exactly as the pictures in the internet.
The hotel is from XIX century, the furniture is beautifully crafted. The history behind this hotel is very rich and great.
