The only good thing about this hotel is the location.
Room was old and smelled dirty, the bathroom had an even worse smell all the time.
Very noisy, you could hear people in the next rooms clearly.
I was really expecting more. There are more options for the same price or less in Meridas downtowns with better installations and amenities.
Staff where helpful.l & friendly. Beautiful original building with fan & air con & bottled water a bonus. Frequent load music at night from surrounding night clubs but I slept with ear plugs. The TV reception was not good, but the location to everything especially the Plaza was fantastic & I could walk everywhere 👍
Property is well located for exploring the area around the Cathedral. Plenty of restaurants, shops, convenience stores within a few blocks. Very helpful if you can speak a bit of Spanish. There is no elevator but you can request a lower floor if stairs are an issue.

Other similar places are better
I booked the basic double room and got one of the two rooms next to the pool. I suspect the rooms on the upper floors are probably nicer after reading other reviews, but my room definitely had the mustiness that others wrote about, and any the noise of kids using the pool were definitely noticed through the not very well sealed door and windows.
Staff were friendly but large parts of the public area were closed off due to covid, so it's hard to say what a full experience of the place could be like. However, based on stays at nearby similar places, I think I'd definitely go back to those before I came back here.
Mucho ruido en la calle al rededor del hotel. Todo el tiempo

Great location but good luck sleeping
The hotel has a great location (right in centre of Merida) and there is a charm to the old building, however our room was basically connected with the next as there was gaps between the wall and the ceiling. This meant that we could hear everything happening in the room next to us as if they were in the room with us. We had to ask them to be quiet as we couldn’t sleep. Not really their fault as they were just enjoying their room, thinking it was actually private. Also the swimming pool is open till 10.30pm with screaming kids till then. With the way the hotel is built you may, like us, get a room just over the pool. If you are an early sleeper this hotel is NOT for you.
Super convenient, close to centro and many good restaurants. Hotel was clean and accommodations were perfect. Staff was understanding of,our limited spanish.
Excellent option.
Great location, near the cathedral in the midst of everything. Very friendly staff.
Really enjoyed my stay at Reforma.
Room has everything needed, hot water, fresh towels, AC, TV, Netflix etc.
Hotel was clean and neat with good service. The hotel's best part is the inner courtyard where all the rooms are clustered. The hotel people speak little english but enough to communicate.Hotel is in the heart of activity with lots of restaurants nearby. I enjoyed it so much that i extended my stay
The hotel felt like home after the first day. Friendly staff and convenient amenities. The hotel itself was located near two different amazing parques/centros (parks/centers) which was very nice.
I spent almost a week relaxing in the hotel and exploring the historic downtown area. I was assisted in all of my activities and excursions by a friendly and always ready to help staff.
Convenient room at 5 min by walk from the center of Merida which mean that you have access to all bars and restaurant in the old colonial city. Good to go
People at the hotel are very nice and helpful. Is an old property, but conveniently located in the center of the city. The ambiance at the hotel is tranquil, guests are respectful.
Welcomed by friendly staff, and led me to my room on the 4th floor. Its location is great, close to any places in town. The building itself is a little bit outdated but it's ok. for this price, great value!
Wifi signal did not reach our room # 138. Provided code and when tried I got Unable to authenticate. I had to go to the lobby each time I needed online access. Worst part was when toilet overflowed to shower area when flushed. It was bad.
Good part is that they offered to move me to another room.
Another aspect I did not like about my experience was when we went for our "continental" breakfast. It was included during our stay, but when my wife went for (literally) one more slice of toast she was told "It is only one serving per guest"
The hotel has it's charm but it is in need of an update as the facilities seem old and outdated. Specially in the restroom department.
The staff was nice and pleasant.
It was the best place we stayed in all of Mexico. It was the same price if not a bit cheaper than a hostel, but it was a hotel in a gorgeous old mansion, with a pool, massive shower, rooms had A/C and fans and lovely breakfast was served in a beautiful leafy courtyard. When I checked out I left my iPad in the room by mistake under some magazines. I returned the next day in a panic! But the iPad was returned to me by a manager. So the staff (including the cleaners) are very honest. It really should be a 3.5 star hotel, not a 2.5 star.

The location is very convenient to any where. The price is pretty nice too. The room is a little bit small, but still worth what we paid. Nice one again.

Okay hotel. Our room was next to reception so it was noisey in am. Friendly staff at breakfast. They have peanut butter too! Had a great tour of cuzama cenotes and horse cart ride around town. Lots of stores!

+ves location -ves shower (cold water, no pressure
Nice hotel esp. for the price and location. Not all rooms have a grounded power socket so be sure to get one that does otherwise you'll need to charge gadgets in dining area. Shoes left beside pool went missing but that could happen anywhere. Cold showers with zero water pressure in my room on level 4. Good Wifi.

Perfect location
I thought this hotel was so beautiful. The staff were friendly but their English wasn't great. Our room was away from the central area which made it quieter but the walls are thin and you can hear everything. We enjoyed the pool oasis which we used everyday when the heat became too much. The hotel is right in the heart of the city with markets up the road on the weekend and a great bar/restaurant across the road called Panchos.
