“Good Quality Hotel a little way out of the Center”

Nice Hotel in good location. Club Room worth the extra money with great views over the City. Easy to get into town with frequent buses very close. Walmart a three minute walk away

“Visited Many Times”

“Excellent plase to stay at Merida”

“Nice place to stay”

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Hotel is clean and well maintained. The only 'problem' is noise - the halls are all marble (floor and walls) and resonates sound - no carpet to absorb any of it. So, when people are in the hall talking, walking, etc - it can be heard loudly in the rooms.

“Beautiful City to visit.”

This is a Colonial City, from the Spanish rule all over Latin America, and is realy beautifull, trafic is not to easy , but we survive, nex time we are planing to expend more days at this place.

“Definitely will be staying again”

About the only thing I can say that I didn't find up to par was that the swimming pool terrace & bar would close too early, but I understand the safety issues involved. As for everything else, just a peach. Very clean rooms and very comfortable beds with lots of pillows. The amenities were all inviting (I don't exercise and I was tempted to use the exercise room), specially the lobby restaurant/bar. The staff could not have been any nicer and more diligent. They made me feel as if they were at my beg-n-call. Outside the hotel everything is quite charming and nearby. Within walking distance of restaurants, shops, parks, and quaint streets that make for great evening walks. Close to airport (about 10 minutes), and main roads and highways. There is also a bus station next to the hotel with very comfortable and modern transport buses, luxurious even. And they can take you clear across the nation. All in all, a great place to stay.

Traveler's tip

The Yucatan Cuisine is absolutely divine. Restaurants do not have luxurious decor as one would expect back in the USA, but they more than make up for it on the dinner plate. And then you find it hard to believe it cost so little. Everything is fresh. They either just plucked it, caught it, or brought it. Food entrées that rival the best New York, San Francisco, or New Orleans can muster. And yes, the hot sauces are unbelievable.

“Great location and atmosphere”

The hotel ceiling is gorgeous, and their service is in a well maner. The room is a little bit small, but comfortable. Easy acess through the city downtown.

“please don't paid that much money for this hotel”

for be a hyatt hotel i can't believe how dirty it was the bathrooms wasn't clean and the taolls so dirty like from a mothel class;

“A hyatt in need of some TLC”

Service is great, staff is extremely friendly, but the wear and tear this hotel and the rooms have is not what I'm used to in a Hyatt. If the room rate was not as cheap as it was, I think I would be very upset.

“Urgent renovation needed-Freezing pool.”

Wonderful building not in shape. Needs full renovation. Carpets are dirty and cigarrete burned everywerte (even in an non smoking room). Pool is not heated, even if Merida becomes extremelu hot, the building keeps the pool in shadows so the pool is freeze for kids. Its a pity when you plan a pool vacations with kids.
