Great location with a beautiful hotel. Staff aimed to please if a bit disorganized. They could have been a bit more knowledgeable about the area or other information useful to tourists.

Unique hotel with a very helpful staff and ownerPosted Jan 23, 2014
Pros: Helpful hosts
Cons: My wife says a better hair dryer.
Location: Great neighborhood, Museums, boutiques and small restaurants nearby. Mature trees along avenue. Short walk to zocalo or easy to hail a taxi in front
This hotel is the quintessential boutique hotel. The owner and staff made great suggestions about places and events to visit and made necessary arrangements. At our request, they held a degustation for us of mezcals and tequilas that are unavailable in our area. There is interesting art throughout the hotel. The neighborhood is exquisite if you enjoy colonial architecture on a broad, tree lined avenue. Several museums and art galleries within walking distance. 10 minute walk to town or easy to hail a taxi in front of the hotel. The included breakfast was lavish (fresh fruit juices, fresh fruit, variety of breads, eggs to order, bacon, toast). We also had an excellent lunch and dinner at the hotel restaurant. Perhaps our enthusiasm is best revealed by our plan to use Roses and Chocolates as the theme for the bridge party that we are hosting tomorrow night as a way of recommending both Merida and the hotel to a group of our best friends.

Superb location, service and Food.Posted Aug 3, 2013
Pros: The attention to details was the best. People are really caring.
Cons: They should put a chocolate in your bed at night.. Other hotels do that, how come that a hotel with Xocolate on its name does not?
Location: Everything you need to visit in Merida is walking distance. Otherwise, rent a bike a cross the street and pedal to your destination having lots of fun
Only after staying there we realised that it was our best option in Merida, due to its great location (at Paseo Montejo) and fantastic service. Every breakfast was amazing and we came back in the evening to have cocktails at the terrace where a Jazz band plays every night.
