The Hacienda San Jose is wonderful hotel. We only stayed for one night but would gladly have stayed for a week. The hotel was not too difficult to find coming from Merida.

"Superb"
This hotel is considered "el hotel de lugo" and you know it's true the minute you walk in. All the front desk staff speaks English.. And are very friendly and helpful. We checked in late and they knew exactly who we were.. They had fresh fruit waiting for us in our room.. All the amenities were wonderful.. The hotel was extremely clean.. Workers maintaining the premises at all time. The only complaint was the constant door slamming throughout the night.. Which I suppose is expected when you're in a hotel..But overall 5 star.

"Lovely hotel at Uxmal"
If you plan a trip to see the Mayan ruins at Uxmal, which are magnificent, then you should stay at the lodge, It is located right at the entrance in a beautiful location, the hotel itself is stunning, with carved solid wooden doors and stained glass features. The restauarant is very good and also reasonable. All the staff are very attentive and polite. We loved it.

"A hidden oasis"
In showing my brother around Mexico, I had bragged that the service often defines the allure of tourism in this oft-maligned country, and The Villa at Merida was proof of my belief. There are certainly compromises you have to consider - it's not in the heart of the city, but the walk to the zocalo is a delight in itself. Its location means that it's quieter, and can offer more outdoor amenities, than the hotels in the historic center. The villa has a lovely little pool area for basking, and the breezes wafting through made it a lovely area to eat breakfast or to have a drink. There is wireless Internet, and the beds are among the best I've encountered in any Mexican hotel. The shower heads could use a bit of a soak in some vinegar to get them back to full flow, but again, small potatoes. The most attractive feature was the staff. It's small and attentive, and will do anything for you. They also speak English if you need it, and it's worth having dinner there once in the beautiful dining room just for the experience. They basically build the menu around your preferences and offer meals from the Yucatan, Mexico or international styles. The management is currently renovating some of the rooms and were attending to some flaking paint in ours the moment we checked out, so they care a great deal about the appearance and comfort of the Villa. A lovely little oasis, located away from the madness, and within minutes of the airport and perferico to the various historic sites.

"Beautiful Merida"
My family (eight of us) and I stayed at the Inter-Continental Presidente in Merida for a whole week from Dec. 23 to the 29th, 2012. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel with great comfortable rooms and incredible customer service. The location is excellent, close to everything and a very short taxi ride to downtown. I recommend visiting Merida as it is a beautiful city and enjoyed staying at this hotel very much. I will be back for sure!
