Hotel HELL for non-smokers!!

Pros: The very first night there, the front desk girl was very polite and kind. There is nothing else I liked about this hotel.
Cons: Get rid of the Manager and maybe some changes could be made to make this a better hotel
If you want to have a even a decent experience, DON'T STAY HERE! Paid $90 a night to have to breath cigerette smoke like if someone was standing in our room smoking. Informed the front desk who did nothing about it even after smelling it themselves. I don't know if the fact that they are foreigners has anything to do with it but their customer service sucks!! I asked to be transferred to a different room since they couldn't do anything about it. I did not receive a room change, in fact they did nothing at all and even refused to refund my money for the one night that was from hell. Manager kept saying "I don't know how this could have happened" like if I was lying about the smoke. There breakfast is sickening (that's being generous) with the exception of the waffle. Honestly, for the money there are many, many, many other hotels out there better than this one!

First room the bathroom was dirty! Toilet and all, with no soap. Second room alittle better but smaller and smelt. Gum in the pool both days so no one cleaned it...i could keep going on but I think that's enough

Needs updating

Pros: Staff was good.
Cons: The Expedia website showed misleading pictures from a different hotel, this was not the place we were expecting.
Staff of the hotel were nice and very prompt with all service. The hotel itself needs work- cracked bathroom tile and fixtures, peeling wallpaper, dated pool. The food served for breakfast was stale and of poor quality.

Convenient Stop in Merrillville Needs attention

Pros: Great rates, comfortable rooms, good breakfast.
Cons: Showers are in need of cleaning (grout is moldy) Better communication on breakfast hours Bring back the hot tub!
Location: Convenient to the mall and a lot of restaurants, shopping and entertainment.
We usually stay here during our holiday trips to see family and have enjoyed it for the most part. In the past it's been busier and there was a hot tub (still listed on the website but now covered up with a wood deck). The place is comfortable and well-managed and a great value. Attention to detail seems to be slipping a bit....there is mold growing in the tough to clean corners of the showers....I HATE MOLD! And over the holiday weekend I called down to double check on the breakfast time and was told it was available until 10:30 only to find out at 10 that it stopped at 9:30. The staff in the breakfast area was very accommodating but if felt like we were imposing a bit. Hopefully they can clean things up a bit and keep this on our list of regular stops...there are a lot to choose from in the area!

Good value for price

Okay place to spend the night. Evening night desk was friendly and helpful. Room was freezing upon check in, but warmed up quickly and quickly. The towels were rough and could use fabric softener. I think the tub was just wiped out because it was a little slick and could of used a scrub or two. Other than that, it was just fine.

Decent Hotel for our needs

Pros: Clean, conveniently located.
Cons: The pool could be warmer, the fitness equipment needs some maintenance, and a better TV would be desirable. Also the breakfast wasn't the best either
Location: Plenty of restaurants and a large mall very close. As well as other shopping locations
The hotel met our basic needs for an overnight stay to be closer for our daughter's gymnastics meet. The room was clean and the beds comfortable, no complaints there. We were surprised to see a tube TV instead of a flat screen, but it wasn't a big deal, we just didn't realized those were still being used. The indoor pool was pretty chilly, even my 6 year old didn't last more than 30 minutes in it. Also the fitness equipment could use a little maintenance. Overall pleased with the experience though.

Too many other choices to stay here again.

Hotel was worn out. Needs updating. I stayed in a Country Inn & Suites in Blaine, MN and it was outstanding so I tried again in Merrillville. I probably will not go back to any of them other than Blaine. Wifi was problematic and prevented work to get done. Overall feel was not good and the breakfast was horrible!

I booked the hotel by the way the picture looked . When i checked in the place looked clean and the young lady behind the desk was so pleasant . When i got up to my room it was a totally different experience the room is so out dated and was not clean ! The tv didnt work i had to call the front desk and the young lady came up to the room and yeah we have had problems with this tv before .then we had to switch room to the other side of the hotel . Once settled in we went down to the pool to enjoy the hot tub and pool . The hot tub as shown in pictures was covered up by a deck and they no longer have a hot tub , i have paid less money and stayed at nice hotels . I will never stay at this hotel ever again !

The room was spacious, beds were comfortable, hot breakfast was different every morning. The sofa bed was horrible- mattress was paper thin. The coffee in the lobby was lukewarm most mornings. All in all, we were pleased with our stay
