Right in the heart of Mesa Verde National Park!Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: Location, views, staff was really nice!
Cons: Ice machines not all working, but found some.
Location: Mesa Verde, Cortez, Dolores
Amazing views and great to stay right inside Mesa Verde. Restaurant (Metate Room) here was fantastic! The accommodations are bare-bones. No air conditioning in rooms, but gets really cool at night. I loved having the windows open. Not a luxury hotel, but a great place to stay when exploring Mesa Verde!

This hotel is located in the national park and had amazing views of in the day and at night with the star gazing The restaurant prepared the best meal of our whole trip. Overall would definitely stay there again there were no bells and whistles but you can't get a better location.

Adequate - only because of location.Posted Jul 4, 2014
Location: Location is only reason for staying at this hotel
Inside-the- park location is the only reason for staying there. Hotel is more like a cabin. We knew there would be no television, but they advertised Wi-Fi and phone "in every room." We had neither. According to the desk clerk, "critters" eat the phone lines so absence of phone, Wi-Fi is common. So..beware. Room was clean, but not comfortable. I recommend this only for one night, allowing for a covenient 2 day tour of the park. Cortez is just a 20 minute drive to the park. Better to stay there if you can. There are more and better dining options in town.

IntruderPosted Jul 4, 2014
Location: Mesa Verde, the camping facilities are nicer with more amenities than the hotel
My wife and I spent over two weeks in the four corners region and this was to be our last hotel stay before pitching the tent one last time. We spent 2 -3 days camping , then a hotel for a night, all reserved in advance. To make along story short, the room wasn't worth the cost of staying there. No amenities and a maintenance man that thought he could just walk in our room. This is totally unacceptable and I will never stay there again. (nor will I recommend this hotel) This guy wasn't there for repairs and came in with his own key. This situation could have gone from bad to worse in one second.

Great location in middle of Mesa Verde national pkPosted Jul 2, 2014
Pros: great restuarant facilities
Cons: need new accommodation block of bigger and better quality standard to give other options
Location: fantastic location in middle of national park - lots to do and see
fairly compact room and too small for 3 adults - very small bathroom. Disappointing accommodation standard - comparable to tourist lodge or quality cabins

Location is the best qualityPosted Jul 1, 2014
Pros: Its location in Mesa Verde National Park, close to areas of interest, wonderful views from the rooms.
Cons: Maintenance...the guest rooms need extensive rehab.
The central building with restaurant is very nice, restaurant food was very good, but the guest room buildings have had substandard maintenance and look shoddy. The telephone didn't work, the light outside the door didn't work (even tho maintenance looked at it), the window screens were torn and installed upside down, the blankets were thin and moth-eaten. This was my fourth visit since I was a teen, and the guest facilities were very unsatisfactory.

Only hotel within Mesa VerdePosted Jul 1, 2014
Pros: friendliness and accessibility of the staff. Fantastic restaurant.
Cons: Maintenance and general upkeep. All rooms need to be airconditioned.
Location: Mesa Verde is a world heritage site with hundreds of cliff dwellings and other archaeological sites with tours, hikes, a museum and gift shop.
This hotel was a mixed bag....The staff went out of their way to be helpful...The food at the restaurant was fabulous. It is worth it at Mesa Verde to stay inside the park as it is at least a 1 hour drive from the park entrance to the dwelling sites. Staying in the park cuts it to a 15 min drive. The downside....It was not clear when booking our room that the difference in the prices of the rooms is air conditioning. From Expedia's description of the rooms I thought they were all air conditioned. Mesa Verde is in a desert. It is hot. Also, there was a transom window above the door to the room that let in light all night long from the porch, thus it was difficult to sleep. Also our windows and balcony door (easily accessible from the outside) would not close all the way and lock, thus we had safety concerns. If you are looking for comfort...this room is not worth the price. If you want the convenience of being in the park....well, it is your only option other than camping.

The Far View LodgePosted Jun 27, 2014
Pros: The staff is unfailingly polite and helpful and our room had wonderful views from the balcony.
Cons: The rooms need to be updated and modernized. The daily cleaning could be better as they do not vacuum.
Location: Outstanding location within Mesa Verde National Park and all of the wonderful sites. The restaurant is excellent, if not a bit pricey.
The hotel rooms are a bit disappointing. The bathroom is very small and smelled a bit moldy. The room could certainly use a bit of updating.
