Breathtaking view
It was so peaceful and beautifully located. The view was breathtaking. I highly recommend that if visiting Mesa Verde stay in the park.

Old and tired.
The lodge definitely has some age on it. everything creaks and rattles. the walls are paper thin. you can everything your neighbors are doing. the window was leaky so there was a constant whistling. the bathroom is so tiny and they should have hung the shower door the other way. as it was once you open the shower door you can not access the rest of the bathroom. so if you left your towel on the other side of the door you are stuck! also, there was no TV in the room. literally, nothing to do after dark. Overall it was okay for a $60 price range. but not the premium price you pay for the room. We reserved the room for 2 nights, but decided to leave after the first night despite not being able to get our money back.

The location and scenery is amazing. The staff are very responsive. Plan ahead for limited food and accommodations. Wi-Fi is limited and no tv in the rooms. The small rooms with oversized furniture make you feel cramped. Perfect for a one night stay.

By far the most convenient option if you are going to tour Mesa Verde NP because of the long drive into the park to reach the ruins. You'll lose a good part of your day if you stay elsewhere. It's more of a motel than a "Lodge" though, and there are very limited options for eating and no microwave or fridge in the rooms.

Thank you for your review and feedback. There is a microwave in the main lodge for guest use and it is available 24/7. We also do have mini refrigerators in all of our rooms.

We had the room with a view. Got to see sunset and sunrise. Room was very clean and large enough. Bathroom was tiny. Only room to turn around. We didn't have a problem with it. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Nice NPS stay
This was near the end of season at a busy National Park so things were a bit tired. However the staff did a wondeful job and we wer very comfortable and happy. The entire lodge closes in 2 weeks, so we were happy to even get in.

Great view and location
Great location for the hotel. Very nice room with a good view a bit basic but that’s what we expected. The front desk staff wasn’t especially nice and the walls were thin so you could hear what was going on in the neighbors room, especially if they talked with loud outside voices.

Sounds from all the rooms, not a pleasant stay
The rooms have amazing views and the lodge, which is walking distance, made the evening simple since I didn’t have to leave the park to find some dinner and drinks. I was very excited about staying inside the park to enjoy a night of serenity, but that was NOT possible. The walls are paper thin and you can hear EVERYTHING…. Kids screaming, people having sex or arguing, every single shower, toilet, and steps from the rooms near me. This happened until about midnight, and started again around 5am. There is no TV and the WiFi was not strong enough to stream, so there was no way to muffle the sounds around me. To make it worse, the mattress was hard as a rock. I thibk camping would’ve been a lot more comfortable.

The perfect hotel for staying overnight and visiting Mesa Verde. I saw previous reviews about the cleanliness of the room, so I wasn't surprised that there were stains on the walls, the towels and the bed sheets. I wouldn't stay longer than one night. Great water pressure and friendly staff. I think they are just short staffed which is a common problem these days and it is so busy! The restaurant is amazing.

Expensive and no frills.
View and location was amazing as lodge is located right in the park. The lodge was ok nothing outstanding, very busy. The bathroom was so small that it was difficult to open the shower door without also opening the bathroom door as there was not enough room to open the shower all the the way which was odd. There is a lodge restaurant which is very expensive and overpriced, the coffee shop was just that and nothing much. Nothing much around the area, but the park was truly amazing. I would advise staying in Cortez which is a drive but not as expensive, has restaurants and stores. We only stayed one night, so durable but any longer I don’t think so. Unless you bring food and drinks there was a refrigerator in the room. No Wi-Fi or television which was fine after a long day. I was glad we didn’t pay full price for the room, used our points earned in Hotels.com program.

Beautiful views from the balcony
We loved being able to stay in the National Park. Our room was spacious and we loved sitting on the balcony admiring the views. The food at the lodges was very good and reasonably priced. We loved that we were so close to the main attractions in the park.

Good value, convenient and clean
We stayed two nights at the Far View Lodge in September, which gave us one very full day in the park. I would absolutely stay here again on a return trip to Mesa Verde. Not only was it much more convenient than Cortez or even the camping areas, but also the rooms have been updated recently - new floors, vanity, furniture and paint. There is a small fridge in the room and a balcony to sit on and overlook 30 miles of mesa and watch the sun rise. Don’t get me wrong, this is still a relatively small room in an older national park lodge with creaky floors, but I was pleasantly surprised. And you can’t beat the value. Recommendations: (1) Make lodge reservations early, (2) make a reservation at the restaurant a few days before, (3) get tour tickets online two weeks ahead, (4) stop by the Far View ruin sights before your tour (we were tired by the end of the day), (5) stop by the visitors center and museum. We did Cliff Palace at 11 am and Balcony House at 2 pm. In between, we got lunch across from the museum and visited the museum.

Very comfortable and amazing view
Far View Lodge was in a beautiful setting. We loved staying there. While the outside is a bit dated, the room was very comfortable. We loved the King Size bed. The bathroom was great. I wish there had been a dustpan and brush to brush up dirt that we tracked in from hiking. The restaurant had great food. The bar was very nice. It was disappointing that the gas firepits were not working outside the bar area. The Terrace Cafe near the Lodge should really provide decaf coffee in the buffet area.

Amazing view absolutely enjoyed our stay. Wild horses and deer will visit often. Dining options are decent but as expected for 11 miles up a mountain. Definitely will be back.

Hotel is inside the park, which is huge because any other hotels are really far away. Rooms were small, but that's not terrible. You could hear your neighbors however, and that was bad. Wifi is terrible. Understandable given the remote location but it caused problems with further planning and communicating.
