This hotel is full of character with a charming outlook to the sea. It is quiet and next to the archeological gardens. The furniture and furnishings are traditional, artistic and very sicilian. The pool is salt water and always clean. The breakfast room is open with a view towards the sea. The evening dinner is varied with just enough choice and well presented. The staff are friendly and you can access the sea from the hotel with good snorkelling.

Fantastic Setting
Fantastic setting & lovely staff! Pool & beautiful landscaping among lava rocks. There’s a small ladder that will lead you into the sea for a swim! The staff was super friendly, especially Manuela! Would definitely stay there again!

Beautiful hotel and amazing daily breakfast. Our room looked out onto a deserted and dirty lawn/pool but the main hotel's pool area is gorgeous.

Everything is fine at this hotel which is in a beach resort and nothing to complain about but could be a lot better and not the standard of a 4*. The exception are he staff who were helpful. Positives - quiet location on sea front, 5 minutes walk to restaurants, free car parking and parking is a nightmare as well as driving Drinks same price as restaurants Things that could be better - towels should be free not 3€. Not a lot but why charge. Room needed balcony large enough to sit on, breakfast quality and selection not 4* standard.

the hotel is nice, somewhat old style furnishing. there is a nice pool and lawn viewing the sea. there is no beach because it is rocky. the staff is helpful and friendly at times. i don't think i would give this place four stars, the room was big but there was a shower separated from the toilet and in the middle of the room. the sink was also out in the room.. a bit strange to my opinion. bathroom amenities were poor. only a small soap bar and a little bag of shampoo. also the breakfast was less than ok and to my taste the coffee was terrible.

Beautiful views and a unique experience
Our first trip to Sicily but hopefully not our last. Arathena Rocks has very spacious rooms, great air conditioning and all the amenities you need. There is a pool, garden area, restaurant and bar and plenty of peaceful areas just to sit and admire the seaside view. As others have mentioned, the decor could do with an update but I thought that added to the overall charm. We felt like we were guests at a grand manor (from the 70s maybe!) but the prices were reasonable and the staff were lovely. Many restaurants and shops in the area, close to everything you need and literally right on the water. Would definitely recommend to others and would love to return one day.

The hotel staff were lovely and view from Balcony wonderful and relaxing. Again as we found with many if our stays that if there are events being held at the hotel which may disrupt your stay you most likely will not be told. This was our experience as a wedding was on at the hotel in the hotel grounds which only started at 8 pm and went in through the night getting louder. Most unpleasant trying to sleep though the noise. The hotel itself was rustic and accomodating.

Arrived to be put in 2 singles despite the request for a double but within 2 hours the maid came around to push 2 singles together which made up a "double bed" (which pushed apart in the night). Wifi was only in public areas, when I told the receptionist that it advertised on the website, she simply just shrugged. Breakfast was quite poor

Unique Design with Excellent Views
A really lovely stay with a friend here for 4 nights. A gloriously unique hotel design, with great little jumble-sale style furnishings, but in a typically Sicilian rustic design. Close to the beach, just a 8 minute walk away, bus stops into Taormina literally right at the end of the road, every hour, until 8.30pm. Although note that in high-season, you can get a bus back from Taormina until 1am, it just drops you in main area of Giardini Naxos, so you have to walk. But as 2 28yo ladies, we felt completely safe to do so. The hotel was lovely, the staff friendly and helpful, the views impressive and relaxing, and the general ambience quiet and rejuvenating. Recommended!

Comfortable hotel in quiet location
Really enjoyed our stay at the Arathena Rocks hotel. In the quieter part of Giardini Naxos but only a 15/20 minute walk to main area of beach and restaurants. Staff were really nice and helpful. Bedding changed every 3 days and towels daily.

Great old quirky Hotel
Great position, we had a room overlooking the sea. Set in a quite area of Naxos, but only 15/20 minutes walk to plenty of good restaurants and sandy beach. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, room was clean, and spacious. Salt water pool was great, plenty of sunbeds available. Maybe the only negative was the Hotel was a little tired around the edges, flaking paint etc.

Comfortable hotel close to waterfront
This review is for the Nike Hotel as we were transferred to this hotel from our booked hotel Arathena Hotel. At the time of transfer we were told that the Arathena was full. However the Nike is a good hotel, excellent staff and a great location. We stayed 6 nights and enjoyed side trips to Taromina, Mt Enna and Seracusa. We also had time to enjoy the excellent Giardini Naxos. Parking was easy and a bonus so close to all areas.

Amazingly relaxing
Great location for a quiet relaxing holiday. Pool lovely, close to beach and resort with good direct access to the sea at the rocks. The hotel is quite unique with its art works,unusual furniture although perhaps a little jaded but spotless. All the staff we encountered were just brilliant, helpful and friendly. Nice gardens and seating areas. This is not a generic hotel. I liked it.

We stayed at Arathena Rocks Hotel for 6 days in August. The staff, were for the most part, very friendly - especially the Australian lady at reception who was very welcoming. The breakfast was good. The cocktails were very good - they pick fresh mint from their mint plant. Our room was spacious. We stayed in room 203, which had a balcony with a view of Mount Etna. At night you could see the lava shooting into the air, which was spectacular. We thought the salt water swimming pool was great. The beach is a short walk away, and there are some great restaurants by the water on route. Arathena Rocks Hotel have also built a path from the garden, which leads to a ladder so you can climb down from the rocks into the sea and go swimming.

Only stayed one night. Seems to be used as a package hotel. Food very basic. In a beautiful spot on beach on lava rocks. Well maintained throughout with pool and attractive gardens and pretty building but it feels somehow soulless, like the management isn't sure what to do with it. For someone wanting beauty, comfort, good price and a quiet position though, it would be difficult to beat. Cost by taxi to Taormina (no courtesy bus) 20 euros each way. This is the easiest way to get in and out of Taormina even if you have a car. Don't eat at the hotel. There are nice restaurants nearby.

Wonderful Hotel in Beautiful Location
I stayed at Arathena Rocks during a holiday staying in various areas in Italy and Sicily. This was by far the best hotel - eclectic, unique furnishings and fittings, clean, friendly and in a fantastic location right on the sea. Giardini-Naxos is beautiful and relaxing with some lovely restaurants serving fresh, inexpensive food and, of course, local wines which are a must! I was very sad to leave and plan to return to this hotel for another holiday as soon as I can!

Lovely 'away from it all' hotel
30 minute walk from the main restaurants and bars, energy sapping in 35 deg heat, could do with a shuttle bus. Hotel is very nice but could do with some minor improvements to the pool (cracked and broken tiles) and some painting. Breakfast same every day with no flavoured yoghurts or fresh fruit ! Needs more staff, waiting at the bar is no fun in the previously mentioned heat. Etna and Taormina is a 3 euro public bus ride away.

Nice quite location with excellent staff
All I can say is that the staff were really friendly and extremely helpful. The restaurant in the hotel serves good seafood. The Hotel is easy to walk into Giardini Naxos town centre or Recanati suburb. The restaurant closest to the hotel (start of the road leading to the hotel) is also very good. The hotel caters for a more relaxed atmosphere and that is reflected in its patron. Overall the hospitality service of the staff was second to none.

Hotel located in a quiet rear area of Giardini
The hotel's beach is not sandy but rocky; the closest public sandy beach is about 7 minutes from the hotel; The rooms are large but that's about it, they certaintly don't look like a 4star hotel's rooms; the rooms need severe refurbishment; we avoided spending to much time inside since it looked quite depressing; During the night there was a continuous machine noise comming from the kitchen/basement which stopped us from slipping even if our room and our friend's room were located at 1st and 2nd floor; There was nothing in the minibar and the pillows were awfull. Due it's gardens, pool, acces to see and large rooms, the hotel has a true potential but unless they will spent important funds for the rooms facilities and feautures, I wouldn't go back again.

Overpriced stay
Pool was in poor condition. Front desk staff and breakfast staff were cordial. Evening lounge staff had a real attitude problem. Had a fridge in room which did not cool. Could not bring your own beverage to pool or outdoor lounge area. Key needed to turn on lights, air, etc. Only given one key so when you left for the day you came back to a hot room. Wifi only available in small part of public area. More expensive then it was worth.

Great Hotel in Naxos
The hotel is probaly in my opinion in the best location on Naxos, it is quiet and right by the sea and in a quiet location. Good swimming pool plenty of sun beds to go around.It is good for getting the bus to various places locally.Fantastic view of Etna and the sea. The only down side is we found that the staff were not very friendly, we seem to come and go without any Good Morning/Afternoon, sometimes we wondered if they had seen us enter the hotel at all. When checking out there was no 'have you enjoyed your stay/have a good flight,nothing said at all, seemed very strange to us.

De kamers waren proper. Geen wifi op de kamer en heel weinig of geen in de openbare ruimtes. Hotel is vervallen . Geen 4 sterren waardig. Pover morgenontbijt. Heel slechte matrassen . Hotel ligt heel afgelegen. Andere hotels in de omgeving reeds gesloten. Slecht onderhouden zwembad . Kapotte stenen rond en in het zwembad. Markabele douche en omkleedhokje. Jacuzzi onbruikbaar. Personeel aan het onthaal niet erg behulpzaam. Enkel de dames die de kamers schoonmaken doen het uitstekend en elke dag propere lakens. Spijtig maar dit hotel mag ook zijn deuren sluiten.

A un passo dal mare
Tutto perfetto: camera pulita e spaziosa, spazi comuni arredati con gusto, posizione strategica sia per visitare naxos sia per spostarsi (se siete con la macchina), gentilezza dello staff e bella piscina.. consiglio a tutti di sfruttare la caletta tra gli scogli a cui si accede direttamente dall’hotel.. una nuotata a mare rigenerante sia la mattina che la sera..

Chambre donnant sur le parking tres sombre. Les chambres donnant sur la piscine et vue mer semblent être bcp plus agréables avec un balcon. Piscine agréable. Snorkelling sur le bord de mer de l hôtel très sympathique. Petit dejeuner bon et varié. Un peu excentré du centre ville.

Beautiful hotel with garden on lava rock
We had a great time! The room was clean, not quite like a more luxurious hotel but definitely clean enough! AC worked well but was a bit loud. Staff was very friendly and professional. Amazing balcony!! The decor was amazing, so many pieces of cool aged furniture, really lifted the experience for us. Pool is nice, but note that it is salt water. OK snorkling opportunities in the sea outside the hotel (stairs from lava rock). The hotel was located in a quiet area a short walk from the beach and the center of town, although the walk was a bit exhausting when the temperature was 35 degrees Celcius.
