Nice hotel for couplesPosted Oct 8, 2013
Location: The location is not perfect but in walking distance (about 20 min) to the bus stop.
It is a nice hotel for couples. The rooms are comfortable. The facilities are well cared. There is a bar to hang out night time in a quiet atmosphere. The hotel staff is very attentive and supportive. The breakfast is superb. Wi-Fi is free.

Classy hotel in TaorminaPosted Jul 5, 2013
Pros: Bedroom size and views of Etna and sea Old fashioned but up beat too
Cons: Trek to the swimming pool
Location: Great position: handy for town; quiet at night; lovely view
A real Agatha Christie hotel! Lovely staff very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them.

A bit old-fashioned but in a tremendous locationPosted May 1, 2013
Pros: location and grounds
Cons: breakfast OK but a bit uninspiring; never tried dinner because the menu made it look too filling
Location: superb for Taormina town centre, with beautiful views and attractive grounds
Old-fashioned hotel in a great location, and with lovely grounds. We had apparently booked a room without a view but were given an upgrade which gave us a nice view straight to Mount Etna; however in common with the majority of rooms, ours had no balcony. We found the room a bit hot and stuffy for the first few days, but then the weather became a bit cooler. Breakfast was okay but a little uninspiring. We looked at the dinner menu but all that appeared to be on offer was a full 4 course dinner, which we felt would have been far too filling. Consequently we did not have dinner in the hotel. Given the huge number of excellent restaurants within a 5 to 10 minute walk of the hotel, this was no problem. Reception staff were helpful, and bar staff did not push you to buy drinks if you were sitting in the bar or on the terrace outside. The grounds are lovely with excellent views. We stayed in the 3rd week in April and the bedding plants were only just being planted. I was a bit disappointed to find the swimming pool was not open -- the previous week we had stayed in another hotel in Sicily where the pool was open, although somewhat chilly.

Stunning views of EtnaPosted Mar 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel is very dated and stuck in a bit of a time warp. The hotel looks more 3 star than 4 star but the grounds and pool area more than make up for it. The grounds and lower terrace are stunning. i wasn't there in high season so it was not staffed. But i could still relax on a sun lounger and enjoy the views overlooking Etna and the entire coast. The breakfast was pretty good and offered a nice selection of foods including fresh Sicilian blood orange juice which is a nice touch. The free Wifi was a bit of a disappointment as the Wifi is limited to the small lounge area and doesn't even reach as far as the patio or bar area. Wifi should be free as standard now. Sitting in their lounge is not that great - furniture is very chintzy and a bit dingy. The good news is the min bar prices... The patio adjacent to the bar is not so nice. Although the hotel is dated it could be done up easily some of the lighting is quite nice and back in fashion now - murano glass and beaded shades. Rooms are very small and also a bit dated. The room was clean and the hotel staff very friendly, knowledgable and efficient. The hotel is sited at the end of the main road loosest to Etna, so it has an unspoiled view. The plus side to this is that it won't be as noisy as the ones surrounded by bars. Although their were some rather loud guests having a hen party and acting a bit obnoxious. Pretty sure they went for the mini bar big time!

great location and very helpful staffPosted Feb 24, 2013 on Hotels.com
Great views and right at entry to town so no need to drive in town--quite a challenge. Very helpful staff. Breakfast only ok perhaps because off season.

Great hotel for relaxed vacation.Posted Jan 25, 2013
We shall return later this year. Views of Mt Etna, the Med, from our room, great and amazing, site of hotel perfect, in walking distance of all shops, trattoria's etc.
