Good hotel great location for exploring Taormina
Posted Jan 16, 2013
Good clean hotel, friendly staff, excellent breakfast Convenient place to stay in bay, close to cable car into main town of Taormina, which works very well. Good pool for lazing by, but no extensive garden/grounds if you want something green around. No tea making facilities in room, and no large bar/lounges for relaxing/reading other than hotel lobby area. Shame, as could have created nice pre dinner drinks etc but this was missing.

Not 5 star deluxe
Posted Jan 28, 2011
The hotel had a picturesque position and very relaxing. I would rate this a 4 star as parts of the hotel were worn. Service good when needed but not many staff around. Sunbeds & towels did not live up to 4 star, very old & sunbeds kept collapsing, happened to others aswell. Should charge 4 star prices not 5 star deluxe. But for the position I would recommend and for a peaceful, relaxing holiday.

Nice hotel, but......

Couldn't fault location, views, helpfulness of staff and impressive, different appearance of hotel. We really enjoyed the holiday. But this is the first hotel of this quality we have stayed in where where there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. Breakfast was ridiculously over-priced. Plenty of much more reasonably priced options in Taormina itself. Other tips? Don't hire a larger car than you need - the hotel car park is very narrow and cramped.

Top Rate Hotel

My third visit to Taormina mare and content to have chosen this Hotel. Also previously stayed at the "Villa St Andres" (another top rated 5 star hotel), just a few hundred meters down the road, but if I had to choose, I would again opt for the Atlantis Bay. First class service (bar and restaurant), and exquiste food (can be a little pricey). Beautiful views from every room and a sense of relax is transmitted. Warrants the 5 star deluxe.

A forgotten bit of paradise

This is a stunning hotel. Built literally on the face of the mountain down to the sea level, which means that there is no such thing as a room without a sea view. And what a view! It is located in the lido of Mazzaro', a short cable car-ride from the beautiful town on Taormina. The Antlantis Bay is decorated in keeping with the name! Marine themes abound in the decor, and the place gives you very much the impression it has been carved out of the rock face on which it sits. Each room has its unique little quirk, and there is ample terrace space. Be warned, however, this isn't the cheapest hotel on earth. The restaurant tries to be haute-cuisine, and in the main succeeds. However, the surrounding area, if not the town of Taormina itself. has some great little restaurants which are great value for money: the marinated raw fish and grilled fresh fish in this area to be sampled, especially the swordfish which is locally caught. The hotel has all the facilities you would expect a place of this category to have: a sea-front bathing area with bar service, a pool, a sea front restaurant and a very well equipped spa and health centre. The service is first rate, and the staff is friendly and helpful. All you really need to do is to relax! And you just can't help but do so!
