GREAT LOCATION, HOTEL SO SOPosted Aug 22, 2013
Pros: pool,breakfast, view
Cons: reception and younger staff average of working people was about 50
Location: close to Greek theater taormina center amazing view close to funivia services
The Hotel over looks the sea and it's simply amazing and relaxing. Staff in the restaurant very polite and attentive same for the Pool, The room had a very old a/c system which was very noisy and impossible to be used at night because of it. The bed is very uncomfortable . We have booked through the hotel a bus (navetta) service that was supposed to pick us up and bring us to the beach and bring us back later on; result was that we waited initially half an hour before this little bus came, and once it arrived we were told by the driver they were full and we needed to wait another hour for the next one.We asked explanation to the hotel concierge and his answer was it ïs not our fault we cannot do anything and suggested us to change plan not even helping us to find out how else we could get where we wanted and planned using their services earlier. very disappointing reception staff!

Grand Hotel Miramare reviewPosted Jul 15, 2013
Pros: The balcony with amazing views and a wonderful pool area
Cons: Breakfast was ok. The shower leaked which meant we had to mop the floor after every shower.
Location: Location was great. I warn you it's hilly but you get a great workout so can eat more! But the views are superb.
The hotel was very pleasant. We had a balcony room which I was grateful Id booked. It was a really peaceful location, so great to relax and wind down. It's in a great location, ideal for me, as I could do lots of hill running and get plenty of exercise with all of the stairs, you get perfect views, and are only a short walk to the main area with all of the restaurants, so really in terms of location it's ideal.

Not SatisfiedPosted Jun 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel is actually more a 3 star than a 4 star. Very small room and no room in the bathroom. Light in bathroom was not working and not repaired when requested. Will give this hotel a miss next time. Oh, also car parking was charged which is not mentioned at time of booking.

Sicilian vacationPosted Jun 1, 2013
Pros: The balcony outside our room. The view was spectacular!!
Cons: I do wish the pool had been closer to the hotel.
Location: Taormina is a beautiful city and the Hotel Miramare is close to everything we needed and wanted as far as sights, restaraunts and transportation.
My husband and I just returned from vacation in Sicily. We visited a few cities but Taormina was our favorite. The Hotel Miramare was a great place to stay, perfect location, wonderful staff. We especially enjoyed Roberto as he was very special and helpful. We looked forward to seeing his smiling face whenever we returned from our excursion. He has a good sense of humor and had us laughing quite often.

Where to chill-outPosted May 21, 2013
Pros: lovely views, comfortable bed and good service
Cons: Noisy plumbing whenever your neighbours used the bathroom-poor lighting in the bedroom-trek down to swimming pool.
Location: Stunning location overlooking mountains and Med.
Hotel well appointed although the plumbing is quite noisy from adjoining rooms. Nice swimming pool but to get there is a descent/climb back of nearly 200 steps-not for the faint hearted. Restaurant is pricey, but a short walk into town is well worth while as there are numerous superb restaurants there at reasonable prices. What a lovely Italian town it is-just as one imagines it should be. Stunning views from the hotel over the Med.

Great views over bay but a 10 min stroll into townPosted Oct 30, 2012 on Hotels.com
Great hotel, rooms with balconies and stunning views over bay. Breakfast wonderful and very tasty. Hotel located on way into Taormina with a 10 minute stroll into town centre.

Satisfactory hotelPosted Oct 20, 2012 on Hotels.com
Certainly not the worst hotel we have stayed at - but equally far from the best. Good location for access to town and for reaching by car. Real help to have a car park on site (something you probably need when visiting Taormina). There was a charge of €10 a day but that seemed reasonable. Receptionists were friendly and very helpful. Staff at breakfast were also friendly - albeit didn't necessarily take the care you expect at a hotel claiming to be a 4 star. Great setting for sea view rooms. But the rooms themselves were very much in need of an update - the air con unit looked liked it had been taken out of a mk2 ford fiesta. Having said that, most of the four star hotels we encountered weren't really anywhere near the level you'd normally expect from a uk equivalent, so suspect that the rooms weren't much worse than any other. Bearing in mind the low rate we got, we probably couldn't expect a lot more. One caveat to that is that the sound proofing wasn't great and so the room was pretty noisy in the mornings when the showers were all starting up etc. Overall, not luxury but a satisfactory hotel which we wouldn't have a problem staying at again if we had to.
