Great weekend getaway

Location: Superb. Close to station. Centre of town
Pictures of rooms deceptive. Room was small with a single bed ( Queen size advertised) no coffee/tea facilities in the room. Staff friendly. Hotel very convenient location.

Excellent location for island hydrofoils

Posted Jul 2, 2012 on Hotels.com
Just five minutes walk to the hydrofoil terminal for the Aeolian Islands, this is a great location for an overnight stay. That said, the location of the hotel is in a functionary part of town which wouldn't merit a visit in its own right. It felt a little like a slightly rundown business hotel - the room was clean but relatively perfunctionary and out-of-date. The service was very friendly and helpful but with limited English. The breakfast consisted of the usual cold meats and fruits but only a couple of hot options - scrambled eggs and speck. All-in-all, if you just need a place to rest before moving on, this is a good choice.

You can't tell from the outside but this is a wonderful charming hotel, well appointed and a pleasure to stay in. Staff could not have been more cooperative and they even designated a hotel space on street for use of car because garage (at a sister hotel) was full. Breakfast in roof garden wonderful view of harbor and town. Don't know about the internet access, but found this generally to be a problem throughout Sicily. No apparent instructions available whereas in States its clearly posted in the room.
