Villa Ducale Aug 2013Posted Sep 4, 2013
Phenomenal hotel up on the mountain overlooking Taormina. You cannot get a better view in all of Taormina. The staff was wonderful, especially Paulo and Alicia. We lost our luggage or 2 days and they helped us hire a driver to pick it up in Catania, about 1 hour away. The free breakfast is wonderful, we did not have to eat anything else until dinner at night. They really spoiled us for the 4 days we were there. We highly recommend this for anyone. Thank you.

A dream above the horizonPosted Jul 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
Wonderful, simply wonderful. Staff so incredibly friendly and accommodating. Rooms were a sanctuary, views just stunning. It's located above Taormina old city center and there is a stair path into town, which takes you about 15 minutes if you walk quickly and don't take in the view. regular shuttle services guarantee that you can get back up there is style. Perfect for any occasion. Thank you again to the entire team for making our stay - too short - unforgettable! We will return to La Villa Ducale and it's famous Sicilian hospitality! Amy and Ben

Superb hotel - I want to come back!Posted Mar 20, 2013
We arrived at the hotel for our one night's stay just as the staff were laying out the appetisers for the 6pm cocktail hour - what a civilised start to our stay! Also, each member of staff introduced themselves and made us feel really welcome. The view from the terrace was stunning and watching the sunset over the bay will stay with me for a long time. Our room was across the road from the main buildling and other than a flight of stairs (which wasn't a problem as we weren't carrying our luggage, thankfully!) led to an incredible suite, with a separate living room and huge plate glass window looking out over the bay. The bathroom came with a jacuzzi bath - a wonderful way to unwind at the end of a day climbing all those steps in Taormina! There were even tea-making facilities in our room. My favourite hotel of our Sicilian tour and my only regret is that I wasn't able to stay longer. Thank you to Sante, Alessia, Sandrina and the team for making us feel so very welcome.

Great hotel overlooking EtnaPosted Dec 30, 2012
Pros: setting and ambience
Cons: Cant fault a thing
Location: Really good. High up so great views, but consequently a fair walk or necessary use of the free shuttle into Taormina centre. But great.
Very lovely setting, albeit a good walk or use of the regular free shuttle provided into Taormina. Great standards - friendly and attentive staff and a very relaxed atmosphere with none of that heavy hotel regimentation. Were a bit disappointed on Day 1 as the (super) breakfast had not been replenished despite an hour to go, but that seemed a genuine mix up and was very quickly and amply rectified, I doubt this is a usual problem but as the breakfast is such a highlight here, overlooking Mount Etna and the sea, its important to get that right. Really good stay and definitely a place we would want to return to.

This hotel was one of our all-time great hotel experiences. The room was gorgeous, with every amenity you could want plus a spectacular view of the harbor. The location is ideal, just outside the pedestrian area of Taormina and on the way into town, so easy to find. The staff was friendly and attentive. The public spaces are exquisite. We just loved it.

Excellent view from the dining room. Exceptionally helpful and friendly staff. Offered a complimentary prosecco when we arrived. Also have snacks daily at 18.30 Shuttle service into town was a further bonus!

Pros: Location, Views and breakfast
Location: Very nice views of towns and Mt. Etna
Very nice boutique hotel. Very good location, amazing views of Taormina, Naxos towns and Mt. Etna. The breakfast and evening cocktails snacks were very nice, refreshing change from standard continental breakfast. Very nicely presented and fresh collection of pastries, fruits and juices. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The personal attention they took for each of our needs was very pleasing.

Brilliant hotel. The photographs on the website do not do it justice as to how good it is. But most imporotantly, it is the staff who really make the place special.
