Pros: The views, the food, the family who runs it... EVERYTHING!!
Cons: Nothing -- it's perfect
Location: Trips to the islands, beaches, charming towns
The Villa Ricca is situated on a picturesque hilltop surrounded by fragrant trees with mountain and sea views. The trip up the mountain is an adventure itself and the villa is beautiful and full of history. We traveled as a family of eight with a small baby and Salvatore's family welcomed us with warmth and hospitality. They were accommodating in every way. Grazia, the young woman who works at the villa handles just about everything, and she helped us secure tickets for day trips, made sure we had everything we needed and was sweet and charming while working very hard to make sure we were taken care of. The food was some of the best I have had in Italy, and I have been to Italy over 15 times. This is a very special place. The rooms are clean and everything works. We had a memorable experience during our stay at the Villa Ricca and I highly recommend it.

Best choice we could have made

The views are wonderful, the food was outstanding and the room was excellent. Our large room overlooked the surrounding rural landscape all the way out to Mediterranean and the Aeolian Islands. The food at the restaurant served the best food we had in Italy and tasted like the food my Nonna, who came from the region, cooked . Much of the food is grown locally or on the property itself. The restaurant is very popular with locals, which is a great endorsement. The staff speak English and are helpful and friendly. The hotel is well signed from the Patti Autostrada exit and is close to the Greek and Roman ruins of Tindarri as well as numerous incredible villages perched on mountain tops. For a wonderful relaxing rural Sicilian escape featuring wonderful food, incredible views clean, well appointed rooms, i cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.
