“Wonderful!!”
The gentleman that helped us check in was AMAZING! I wish I could remember his name, but I do not. He was SUPER helpful. Actually, all the staff was great. Also, we had been worried about what to do with our bags after we checked out (as we were to remain in the city until that evening when our train left) and didn't want to tote our heavy luggage. The hotel staff had a place to safely stash our bags. I would absolutely return to this hotel!
“Nice hotel, good rates, a little off the beaten path.”
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in June, 2011. Some of the staff did speak English, which was a plus. We arrived early but our room was ready. Our room was very clean but a little cramped and severely lacking cabinet space since we have a habit of over packing for our travels. The free continental breakfast didn't have a big selection but it was equivalent to a holiday inn breakfast here in the states. There is no free wifi but for 1 euro you can have wifi in the lobby for a 24 hour period although you might have difficulty logging in at first, just keep trying to open your browser until you are prompted for username and password. Now I'm guessing that the primary reason why u would stay here is to see Venice. Well, first of all a taxi ride to and from is very expensive so take just a little time to get to know the public transportation system plus that will be part of the adventure. About half a block down u can hop on a bus that will get there in abou 25 min. or so however, some buses stop running in the evening so u will have to be creative getting back. U can take the train to the mestre station then a short bus ride back to the B4. a good investment would be an all inclusive transportation pass u can purchase at the Venice bus depot that would allow to ride the train, bus and ferry system.
“Clean hotel w/ accommodations to Venice”
This hotel was somewhat farther from the island of Venice, however, for the price and service, it was well worth it. We took a bus to Venice and rode the train back to the hotel. The staff was very accommodating in giving directions to Venice and were very thorough for us American tourists. This hotel seems more designed to suit the business traveler, although we were touring Venice and found it to be quite lovely aside from the distance. We would definitely stay here again!
“They need staff”
It is a nice hotel but they need staff, specially for the dinning time & Room service.
“Baby Friendly Hotel”
We traveled with our one year old and the hotel actually provided a pretty decent crib in our room with tons of toys for my toddler to play. The restaurant provided quality food for breakfast. Overall, the hotel is clean and nicely decorated, very contemporary. It's only 30 minutes ride from the hotel to Venice, and the bus stop is right in front of the hotel.
“Satisfied and may stay again”
Overall it is a great place to stay for a decent price if you don't mind riding the bus to Venice. Bus ride is only about 30 minutes. You can buy bus tickets in the tobacco shop in the mall across the street and the bus stop is right by the hotel. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and polite. They even went out of there way to help my father with proper cold storage for his medications. The only downside is breakfast is not included and it's pricey and not very filling or delicious. There also aren't many food choices nearby either. Do NOT eat at the buffet in the mall, food was horrible and there were flies all over the fruit.
“Horrible location”
I was not impressed with this hotel, and was in fact very disappointed with it's location. The original address I was given for this hotel put it in Venice on the island. Beware: this hotel is located in Mestre, outside of Venice. I spent 8 hours on the phone with Expedia trying to change my hotel to something within Venice, and I was going to be charged $150 to make the switch. Therefore, I did end up staying there and was very disappointed. I would not stay there again or recommend it to anyone. And if I could go back, I would have paid the $150 to switch to a different place.
“Not impressed”
We were not overly impressed with the hotel as there were very few staff available to provide a service throughout the days and evenings - for example the bar and restaurant were nearly always unmanned and the reception was regularly unmanned too. When we did locate staff however, they were helpful and friendly. The hotel also had a habit of playing music in the hallways at 7am which carried into the rooms and interrupted our sleep!
“New hotel, service is horrible and so is the location”
First, we arrived right before check-in time and no one was at the desk, at the bar, not anywhere. We waited for about 15 minutes before we finally heard someone talking and he told us to wait with the wave of his hand. Next, we were only given 1 key and had to put our one key in a slot on the wall to keep the lights and air conditioner on. Well, we decided to leave the hotel for dinner and accidentally left the key in the slot. Upon our return, we went to the front desk to ask for a 2nd key and was told they were out of keys. My husband complained and we finally got another key (thought they were out?). Then, we tried to go to sleep around midnight but there was a loud noise coming from above us. Around 1am we couldn't handle it anymore and called the front desk and a porter was sent up. He tried to tell us it was the heater (this was in the middle of July) and there was nothing he could do about it. About 30 minutes later the front desk called and offered to move us to a new room. It was close to 2am and we had a taxi coming at 4:30am to take us to the airport. It was either pack up all of our luggage and get an hour or so of sleep or just deal with the noise. We ended up moving to the new room, but at this point we were so upset we had a hard time falling asleep. Overall, this was a nice hotel, but the service was lacking and the location wasn't that great. There was a hardware store and Auchan within walking distance.
