Smells like urine

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Even with the AC, the room was humid and smelled dingy and at times like urine. There was barely a breakfast offered. Cereal and milk, cream cheese, cold gravy with almost frozen biscuits. If we're in town next time, I'd recommend trying to motel next to it

Nice home town feel

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: The cleanliness of the place and the family atmosphere.
Cons: Nothing that I can think of.
Location: I was visiting friends and family.
I read previous not so complementary reviews AFTER I had confirmed my reservation. So, I was feeling a little worried that I may have made a huge mistake. But, onward ho! There wasn't much else available at the price, in that vicinity, so I figured I'd give them a go. Yes, it's an older hotel. But it has been either well maintained, or recently fixed up. Check in went smoothly, and the desk clerk was very nice and friendly. I immediately went to my room. It was hot and stuffy, but I turned on the A/C and left to go visit with my friends. When I came back that night, the room was comfortably cool. I had a nice shower, and went to bed. My bed was quite comfortable, and I slept through the night without being disturbed. I left for the day, and when I came back again, I had clean sheets, the floor had been swept, and there were fresh and extra towels in my room. As I said at first, it IS obviously an older place, but for the money it was a great place to stay. I will stay here again and again.

Totally uneasy about staying there.

Posted Jun 3, 2014
Pros: nothing
Cons: updated
Location: OK location
The place looked run down. When I tryed to check in and told them I had booked on Expidia they checked my card that I book with and I was told transaction did not go through and I would need to give them a different card or cash. After going round and round tring to convince them we had already paid and was not going to pay double we left. It may have been a computer glitch but we felt uncomfortable about the whole setting. We stayed at a motel down the street.

Not a pleasant stay

Posted May 3, 2013
Pros: Breakfast was ok.
Cons: Read the above description. It wouldn't take much to make sure that the hotel rooms are clean and comfortable.
Location: Superman statue in Metropolis and Quilt Museum in Paducah KY
Rooms were NOT clean. Black mold on the bathroom floors, not enough towels, no phone cord attaching the phone to the wall, key card did not work and had to be reprogrammed every time we came back to the hotel. There was dust everywhere even just after the cleaning staff left. I will not stay at this hotel again and will not recommend it to a friend.

Fine for sleeping

Posted Apr 28, 2013
Pros: location....near Paducah
Cons: Closed pool,
Location: Only 8 miles from the Quilt Week festivities in Paducah, KY
The photos on the internet looked nothing like the reality. The pool was closed (beautiful in the photos) and there seemed to be too little staff to keep up with the Quilt Week influx. The staff was courteous and the hotel provided an extra special breakfast during the week for the group...had someone cooking hotcakes, eggs and sausages. Since we used the hotel only for sleeping, it worked well for us. They also lowered the rate to make up for the lack of pool. Good marketing, but it needs updating badly.
