"Stay Here"
Amberes Suites is a good hotel in a good location. We arrived very early and exhausted after a poorly planned overnight flight and the staff did all they could to get us into the hotel room by 9.30am. The suites were large and well appointed with a large clean bathroom and well appointed kitchen. The bedroom was not directly off the lounge so I could watch TV whilst my wife slept in. The suite also had a balcony so a late afternoon beer watching the Mexican street was a treat. The hotel is not brand new but there was no broken tiles or worn-out furniture, etc. The location was excellent and is situated in an area with great nightlife and gives the place a festive feel, with many good restaurants. One issue was a Karaoke bar across the street that was too load but not so in the bedroom which are located to the rear of the suite. If going to Mexico City again the first thing I would do is book this hotel.

"Economic hotel near Zocalo."
This hotel is inexpensive and close to the historic center of Mexico City. Each room has a kitchen and there is a convenience store on the ground floor of the building where you can get all of your basics. The Spanish speaking staff is very friendly and helpful. If you are concerned about security there is a safe in every room and the security guard meets everyone at the door and takes you to your floor in the elevator. Metro Hidalgo is just around the corner and the cheapest way to get around. There are inexpensive places to eat everywhere and if you need American fast food it is easy to find as well. The Alameda park is a beautiful oasis and is two blocks away. There are museams all over this part of the city and if you want to practice your Spanish and have a true multicultural adventure this is the hotel for you. A note about Mexico City it only get quiet for about two hours a night, between three and four in the morning. My room was on the third floor and overlooked a busy street. I had read the reviews and brought my earplugs and I was just fine.

"Great hotel in Santa Fe"
The hotel was very pleasant. The room was not big but it made excellent use of the space, huge windows with a great view of the city below. Room service was reasonably priced (if you come from the US, at least) and available until midnight. The included breakfast was excellent and combining Mexican and international food. Note that the tip is not included (it's a buffet, but they do make a point of serving you coffee or orange juice to grant a tip). Breakfast goes until 11:30 a.m., great for people who want to sleep a little extra. You can get both a cab or hotel transportation at the lobby, it's a good idea to ask for the price in advance, although again, it is a lot less expensive than using a cab in the US. Going downtown takes between 45 minutes to an hour, so be patient. There is a bus station near buy that gets you there for 5 pesos (about 0.40 USD) all the way to the Balderas metro station (we speak Spanish, that may be a barrier when using public transportation, so keep it in mind). There a nearby shopping mall with restaurants, movie theaters, etc. within walking distance, a good option if you don't feel like going out too far.
