Cons: Terrace Restaurant wait staff not very attentive. Wanted to go home at 11 PM.
This Hotel is worth the money. Staff is very efficient and helpful. The view from the Terrace Restaurant onto the Zoccolo is magnificient. One note of caution. Restaurant will not serve anything after 11 PM even though we started eating at 9 PM. Food presentation is adquate and quite good, but not innovative. Our waiter seemed not very attentive. Too bad to spoil an otherwise pleasant stay at the hotel. Hans

Lovely hotel- too bad about the noise!!Posted Dec 16, 2013
Pros: The gorgeous Art Nouveau decor and old-world charm
Cons: Noise! And the restaurant downstairs could have a more polite maitre d'- he refused to let us in at 5 to 7 (quite curtly), and muffed my order...
Location: IT's centrally located in the Historic District. There are several attractions within walking distance; i.e., the Cathedral
We had the misfortune to book on a Friday evening in mid-December. There were two functions in the hotel that evening, and we were kept awake by the noise much longer than we would have wished. Also, there is an Indian shop across the street that blares horrible music until all hours...And a hurdy-gurdy man who doesn't quit early either. Otherwise, it's a beautiful hotel, and great for walking in the Zocalo.

Pros: Decor and small cafe for breakfast was very quaint with good authetic mexican dishes.
Cons: Keep the place quiet for sleep during sleeping hours which is what most tourist would want.
Location: Convenient for quick walks to various historic sites.
Staff allows wedding celebrations to go on in their facility beyond midnight. In my case, past 2:00 a.m. making it diificult to sleep. If that is not enough, there is construction going on outside until 4:00 a.m. It has not been a good experience since I prefer sleep after a long day of touring.

Pros: Cleanliness. Decor. Spacious rooms and reception areas.
Location: Central, on Zocalo and all it offers. I walked to and from concerts at Palacio Bellas Artes.
Wonderful bolt hole after the vibrancy and bustle of the city streets. At present there is roadwork being undertaken outside the main entrance but the hotel has a porter strategically positioned to assist with arrival. The rooms are beautifully appointed, the hotel itself a tourist destination with its Tiffany glass art nouveau glass atrium, enormous gilded bird cages complete with finches and elevator from the period. I highly recommend it.

Happy with HotelPosted Dec 1, 2013
Pros: I liked the size of the hotel room, high ceilings and cleanliness.
Cons: Lighting..... I have noticed this in other Mexico City hotel rooms as well..... have at least one lamp with a bright light for reading.
Location: The hotel is just around the corner from the zocalo and is in a great location for walking around the old city center.
Stayed here one night. The design of the hotel is magnificent. The lobby ceiling looks to be stained glass that is beautiful during the day. It is an old world hotel that they don't make any more. The room surprised me. It was actually more like a suite. Two rooms. The bedroom and a room before the bedroom with a sofa and television and dining room table. The bedroom had a canopy bed and was huge. The suite had high ceilings. The bath was marble and clean. Clean rooms..... very nice.

Trip to Mexico CityPosted Nov 25, 2013
Pros: I love the location.
Cons: Needs to improve they internet connection because it's too slow for a four star hotel.
I did like the hotel location, and staff. It's very close to many museums, and they are all within walking distances.
