A good hotel right in the downtown

Posted Apr 15, 2015
Pros: Its location, staff hospitality and rooms standard
Cons: I suspect the Room AC needed a little upkeep. Though someone tried to fix it but it still lacked chill. May be this was a room specific issue
Location: Could not be located better for a real Mexican urban cultural and historical experience
The hotel is close to all the attractions in Mexico city. The area is very touristic. Hotel staff was very welcoming, friendly and ready to help for any problem we had. The breakfast was good with variety. Rooms were clean and cozy with good comfy beds. Wifi was free and connected well. Hotel has beautiful interior and exterior architecture. Since our interest of visit was mainly cultural, I found this hotel to be the best place to be in Mexico city, with lot of hustle bustle around.

Great stay, great location

Posted Apr 14, 2015
Pros: Everything
We had a wonderful stay at the Hampton Inn in Mexico City. We had a room on the second floor at the back of the hotel. This meant that our window looked out onto a concrete wall but the room was comfortable and quiet.

Great hotel as base for Mexico City tour

Posted Apr 7, 2015
Pros: Very attentive service, Breakfast, clean and comfortable accommodations and location.
Cons: Nothing really, perhaps enxure the rooftop garden is also no smoking area.
Location: See above.
We are happy with our stay at this hotel. Beds and pillows are comfortable and bedlinens freshly cleaned, bathroom and bedroom are clean and very pleasant. Initially was given a very tight small room with a window to the corridor but got changed with a complimentary mini-upgrade to a slightly bigger room with a real window to outside. Complimentary hot Breakfast was excellent and sumptous, just right to start a busy day of tours, pleasant main lobby, beautiful stainedglass roof, nice rooftop lounging area and excellent location 2 small blocks away from the Zocalo and just around different department stores and specialized shops all housed in old historic buildings. Service from the staff was excellent. Also a great referral from the hotel is the taxi service to the airport which was very reasonable at 200 pesos (plus tip) compared to the taxi we arranged ourselves from the airport to the hotel at the airport taxi counter which charged us 360 pesos. Overall, excellent hotel and am now recommending this hotel to friends. Pity though that I don't get (Hampton) hotel award points.

Great hotel, great value for money

Posted Mar 15, 2015
Pros: Great staff, great value for money. Beautiful room terrace.
Cons: Suppiy boiling water for tea is the only minor detail
Location: Five minute walk to Zocalo
We arrived at 5 am to be met by "Jonathan" the night duty manager, he showed us three rooms including the one we had booked. We chose a slight upgrade, he allowed us access then and there and authorised us to have breakfast. We had a brief walk around before going back to our room for a rest. There are self serve laundry facilities there which meant we could do a little washing ( unlike later when a laundry lady in another city shrank our clothes! ). There is a lovely sun terrace on the room, free tea and coffee all day as well as the ability to buy cold drinks at reception. When we were leaving we had a night flight, the duty manager allowed us go stay in our room until late evening ( for a charge) even though it was very busy. The staff were great. Breakfast isn't stunning but adequate. The only thing I would suggest is that they give access to boiling water for tea not simply hot water, a minor detail in what is an excellent hotel with excellent staff in a great location. Superb value for money, so much so we have booked with them on our return journey.

Posted Mar 10, 2015

Great Location

Posted Feb 23, 2015
Cons: More heat in Winter
Idea location for visiting Centro Historico, Temple Major, Bellas Artes, and top end department stores Liverpool and Palacio del Oro! Agreat Bistro in the hotel. It can however be a little cool in the room When Mexico City temperatures dip below 15C.
