“Great location, convenient and great staff.”

Mexico City is a beautiful and historical city. Everything is within walking distance. We felt safe and the people were very nice and helpful. We visited every place in the city from Zocalo to Girabaldi (even ate with the locals while being seranaded by the mariachi), the Xochimilco excursion was an eye opening and the amazing anthropolgy museum was such a beauty and interesting to see. The real history is inside the palacio national. It's worth seeing the palace in Chapultepec and walking the famous Reforma. Teotihuacan is a must see. Climbing the pyramids and sipping the famous "pulque" was the highlight of our trip. Don't forget to bring home a bottle of tequila. You won't be disappointed!!!

Area recommendations
Don't be afraid to visit Mexico City, it is safe and clean. The food is good and the people are very nice. There's a lot to see and do. The excursions are affordable and the tour groups are very small so you will really enjoy and have the opportunity to get to know each other and your tour guide.
When to go
The best time to go is in the fall.
Must see
Palacio National, Zocalo, Mertopolitan Cathedral, Templo Mayor, Girabaldi, Mercado San Camilito, Tequila Museum, Alameda Park (Palacio de Bellas Artes), Xochilmilco, Taxco, Cuernavaca, Azteca Stadium,Olympic Stadium, UNAM, The Bullring museum, There's a lot to see in Reforma, Auditorio National, Barrio Del Carmen, Coyoacan (Frida's bithplace), Basilica de Guadalupe, Chapultepec, Zona Rosa, Teotihuacan and Anthropology Museum. There's lots of museums. All you need is time.

“Excellent location but poor service”

Hotel is within walking distance to The Zocalo across the street from Alameda Central Park and Bella Artes. The metro train is also only a block away and the Bella Artes museum is right across. There's a couple of 7-eleven's and overwhelming number of restaurants right next door (including Starbucks). Great street acts/performers on the walk down from the hotel to the Zocalo and a lot of really old and interesting buildings in the vicinity. The hotel also appears to be upto the usual Hilton standards but I had a mediocre experience. The room service people took away the glass and coffee cups from the room on the second day. Why??? People need those to take medications! They didn't get replaced even after 3 calls to the front desk. And I found what appeared to be dried (and attempted to be washed) blood stains in the sheet set (not on last layer sheet itself but in the comforter). The staff is warm and friendly and they have wired/wireless internet (not free) in the room.

“Really enjoyed my stay”

Everything was great! only comment is that they closed the street (Ave. Juarez) that day and since I was driving using a rental, GPS and all, and it took me at least an extra hour to get there and no one at the hotel could give me alternate directions to get there. They should be prepared for these things and let you know so one can be prepared.

Area recommendations
Bellas artes which on the same street other corner. Take the bus tour, hop on hop off, it it's worth it and not expensive at all, just watch our for the trees. And enjoy a great dinner at Polanco. Lots of options.

“Mexico City Hilton Reforma - wonderful!”

After 20 years of not going to Mexico City (I often visit Guadalajara), my husband and I had to go last weekend to attend a wedding We were really not looking forward to it, but were so glad we went! The city's cleanliness has improved tremendously, we felt safe and secure with all of the law enforcement we saw throughout the city and the friendliness of the policement at all times was impressive! The Hilton Reforma exceeded our expectations, and the two hotel restaurants we visited (The Don Restaurant for the breakfast brunch and El Cardenal restaurant for authentic Mexican cuisine)were amazing in quality, service, taste and price. We highly recommend this hotel, also for its proximity to the historical center of Mexico City.

Area recommendations
The Zocalo area (with the Templo Mayor, the Cathedral, the Museum of the City of Mexico). Also, the Basilica of our Lady of Guadalupe. The Museum of Anthropology and the Centro de Bellas Artes with the Ballet Folclorico de Mexico, and of course, the Castillo de Chapultepec.
Getting around
We recommend you use the hotel taxis and drivers for safety and for helpful information of what you are seeing while riding in the cars.
What to pack
Although we went in the middle of July, it was very chilly in the mornings and late nights, so always pack a jacket and/or wrap. Also, it gets very warm in the middle of the day - so layer! A travel umbrella and raincoat also come in handy, since it tends to drizzle at odd times.
Dining
DO NOT LEAVE MEXICO WITHOUT TRYING The Restaurante El Cardenal, in the Hilton Reforma. Prices are very reasonable for the quality/service you get, authentic Mexican cuisine, plus you get to see while you eat a beautiful mural by Diego Rivera.
Events and shows
The Ballet Folclorico Nacional de Mexico which takes place in the Teatro de Bellas Artes on Sundays is a must see - the theater is one block from the hotel!

“I shall return....”

After considering the W Mexico City and the Camino Real in Polanco, we are very pleased with our decision to stay at the Hilton MC Reforma. The food at El Cardinal was excellent -as was the room service breakfast. The hotel staff was very polite and helpful. The room was spacious and the king size bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable. In fact, I want to buy the pillows for my NYC apt. The location is great -getting to Polanco, Zona Rosa, and Lomas was a breeze. Also, for a hotel not located in Las Vegas, the gym was one of the best I've ever seen. Spin Class, Free weights -including both an incline and flat bench, Smith Machine -everything.

Area recommendations
Spend time in Polanco and Zona Rosa. The Anthropology Museum was fantastic. Teotihuacan is worth the trip. And, if you are more ambitious, take the 3 hour trip to San Miguel de Allende.

“Not a 4 star hotel”

This hotel is not a four star hotel. Here's a list of reasons why we are not staying in this hotel again: 1. Carpet was dirty. We had to cover stain with a towel. It looked like a vomit stain. 2. The refrigerator didn't work. 3. Reception desk workers were apathetic to our needs. 4. The hotel manager was nowhere to be found when we complained about the carpet stains and the refrigerator.

Area recommendations
Centro historico for its history.

“Mexico City — An Amazing Vacation Destination”

It's important to remember that not everything reported by the media is true — Mexico City remains an incredible destination for both business and leisure travelers, despite the violence reported in the Republic's northern-most states.

Area recommendations
Centro Historico is fantastic in terms of being able to walk to a wide variety of museums and important historical locations in Mexico City; however, I found the area to be somewhat lacking in terrific places to eat. Colonias Condesa and Polanco, on the other hand, have an amazing variety of incredible eateries but lack in historical and cultural destinations. So, in my opinion, stay in Centro Historico and hire a driver to take you where you want to go for dinner!
Dining
Dining at Pujol is a definite MUST while in D.F. — named one of the top 50 restaurants in the world by San Pellegrino — Enrique Olvera offers an individualistic and insightful approach to Mexican cuisine.
