Nice!Posted Jun 15, 2013
Cons: Just one of the staff members! (Girls who serves breakfast) mean! Very mean! No one ever has treated us with such disrespect!
It was nice overall, great location and facilities for the price!

I spent six hours waiting for 7 guys inside our room to stop drinking beer and having their noisy get together so I could get to sleep !

Great location, friendly staff and cozyPosted Apr 1, 2013
Great location and friendly staff. Have an earplug ready if your neighbor snores...lol...hey this is an hostel what do you expect. It's clean, fresh, high ceiling and beautiful interiors. The location is amazing and places around is live and open late.

Hostel experience for adventurous couples/groupsPosted Jan 4, 2013
Pros: Fun atmosphere in a unique old building, a kitchen to make cheap and healthy meals, and friendly staff.
Cons: Community bathroom was not ideal (low lighting, clogged drains in showers and sinks) and mattresses were a little old and thin.
Location: The hostel is six blocks away from the zocalo in the historic center (Cathedral, National Palace, etc.) and 4 blocks from the nearest metro station.
This is a hostel, so there are shared rooms and shared bathrooms. Private rooms are available for a higher rate than the community dorms. There are also apparently private rooms with private bathrooms. We attempted to reserve a room with a bathroom, but we found upon arrival that we had a room without a bathroom so we used the community bathroom. I am not sure if that was an error on the part of the hostel or Expedia's reservation system. Our private room held three twin size beds, two of which were pushed together to make a bed for two people, one locker cabinet to store belongings (bring your own lock) and a table and some chairs. No mirrors or other extras. The hostel is very friendly and fun. The free breakfast included in the room rate is served by a restaurant attached to the hostel. This breakfast is very small and may not provide enough energy to fuel a full day of exploring Mexico City. There is a good bakery with typical Mexican breads on the same block (we stopped here every morning). The hostel has a community kitchen supplied with dishes, utensils, some appliances (fridge, toaster, coffee machine), and some condiments so you can prepare your own meals. The kitchen is not always very clean, some hostelers do not clean up after themselves. The staff were always friendly and helpful, although they are more relaxed and less professional than typical HOTEL staff. The staff will wash your laundry and fold it for 20 pesos per kilo.

I was worried about the hostel because it was first stay, but all was good and satisfied. Met many friends and every evening I was not alone.

Nice experiencePosted Nov 5, 2012 on Hotels.com
I stayed in the all female shared bedroom. My bed was squeeky so I was a bit uncomfortable moving around while sleeping thinking I may wake up the rest of the ladies. But, overall the place is great, very clean and close to el Socalo. There is a convenience store right next to the hostal that is open 24 hours in case you get the munchis (OXO).
