Buena ubicación. Anticuado.Posted Mar 3, 2015

nice place with caveatPosted Dec 18, 2014
A charming hotel nicely decorated and lovely, helpful, and attentive staff. Somewhat overpriced compared to other hotels in the city, restaurant food is ok but much cheaper and more plentiful options close by--try Sanborn's just around the corner for breakfast. Or any number of taquerias. Easy walk to the fantastic park, and not too far to the metro for other places. The "trendy" neighbourhood did have a couple of ok restaurants but not much else, nice enough and safe to walk in for a single woman even at night. If you book here you can be happy but you need to know: there is a problem with aging plumbing system and loud clanging noises from the pipes kept me awake several nights until I asked to move. They were quick and helpful but the new room faced the street, where, unfortunately all around, a bar has recently instituted a late night incredibly loud music regime that literally shakes the windows of the hotel at times. At 1 a.m. I gave up, booked a room at the Holiday Inn in Centro and left next day for remainder of my visit. Staff was very apologetic, noting the problem this bar had made for them and the (get this) large hospital next door! But...Mexico. Just be sure to ask for a quiet room back of hotel and away from pipe system.

Amazing location in La Roma!Posted Nov 19, 2014
Pros: Location, charm.
Cons: Breakfast was expensive and mediocre. The cafe next door, however, is incredible.
I came here for a part-work, part vacation trip. The hotel was in the perfect location: La Roma is the creative capital of D.F. and La Casona is in the heart of it, so all my meetings were walking distance. The staff are friendly and helpful, the hotel is charming and there are amazing restaurants EVERYWHERE! Highly recommended.

This is an old hotel so if you are looking for something nice probably best to stay elsewhere.

Two thumbs up for La CasonaPosted Oct 30, 2014
Hotel was charming, much better than large chains and the neighborhood was lovely. The service and staff were excellent but take a miss on the restaurant-utterly underwhelming. However, many excellent restaurants within walking distance so no loss.
