This hotel is Not in PolancoPosted Nov 19, 2013
I could not find a room during my visit to Mexico City which first time for me, so and end up here late in a very cold night, the room was old, no AC/Heat and hotel location was shady. I left next day to a nicer hotel

Excellent hotelPosted Jun 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
Lovely small hotel, so much nicer to stay in than the big, high rise hotels that are available everywhere and for half the price. No, it doesn't have gym, swimming pool etc, but all I wanted was a friendly, small hotel with good service and comfortable room, and I got exactly that. People at the service desk were welcoming, helpful and could speak English, the room was great, everything worked including free wi-fi. There was an open air veranda with seating outside the room and breakfast with excellent choices was available inside the restaurant or on the terrace, overlooking the parrots. The hotel is situated just south of the Bosque de Chapultepec, a beautiful wooded park with lakes. Would definitely stay here again.

While the room itself was nondescript, the Park Villas offer the amenities of a more upscale hotel (namely, its sister hotel Green Park). Taxi drivers will know Hotel Green Park, not the adjacent Park Villas. The fabulous Anthropology Museum and more vibrant Polanca neighborhood are a short walk through the park. City Center is about a $5-$10 cab ride. There's a metro stop about four blocks away. Not much in the immediate neighborhood, but al in all, this is a good value.

Sleeping with the LionsPosted Feb 19, 2013
Pros: There was a restaurant with Lions right next to the hotel!
Cons: The lions where making noise every now and then
Location: Very nice and cheap place to stay. A little far away from la condessa but only a short ride with a car

No to lions in cagePosted Feb 1, 2013
Pros: Quiet room good bed great staff good food
Cons: Lions in small cages is appalling
Location: Great location next to Chapultepec park... Well designed quiet inside courtyard
Lovely staff... Quiet room good bed great service Heating didn't work and that's why room is budget Given extra blankets and apologies. My reason for not recommending is only the lions Lions in cages I don't like... In a restaurant as entertainment Is really bad taste.

Hotel nice but don't use them for tour bookingsPosted Jan 5, 2013
Pros: Clean room with character
Cons: Staff not as good as they could be....
Location: Next to the park and Condesa
The room was clean and comfortable, if a little dark. The restaurant was nice, not too sure about the lions in the cage though....and the garden was lovely. My only complaint is that the hotel booked us a trip to the water gardens area of the city wich cost £1000 pesos, which is quite a lot. The reception told us that it would be 5 or 6 hours, so all day and that we would be picked up at 8.45am. On the day of the trip the car did not arrive until 9.45am and the driver told us he had only been told 10 minutes before and it was all over in 2 hours!! We could have got a taxi and stayed all day and had a longer boat trip for less money. When I mentioned it to reception they were not very helpful or sorry, so my advice onlt use this hotel for a room. The location was ok too, next to the park which was lovely, and the area of Condesa is near by which is nice and the Centro Historical is easily accessed via the tube which is only a short walk away. On our last night we had a meal in the restaurant, which was ok, but after we paid, only leaving a small tip as the service was not amazing and one staff member spent the entire time watching a Mexican soap opera!! The water thought it was ok to follow us out of the restaurant and ask for more! We thought this a tad cheeky :-) Overall Mexico as a holiday destination was a lot more expensive than I thought it was going to be......

Clean, friendly and helpful staff, good locationPosted Jan 5, 2013
Pros: The helpful staff
Cons: The bed was a little hard
Location: Close to Condesa, Chapultepec park, the Metro
This staff at Park Villa were exceptionally friendly and helpful (also, their English was so much better than our awful Spanish, which we were very grateful for). Our room was clean and comfortable, although the bed was a little hard. We found the neighborhood to be quiet and safe. Although a little bit removed from Condesa (where we spent much of our time in the evenings) the walk is short (about 15 min) and the hotel itself is only a few blocks from the Metro. The park (where there are many museums and other attractions) is across the street from this hotel, with the closest entrance being about a 10 min walk. We were very happy at this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

Convenient and clean but forget the roar......Posted Jan 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
Friendly service and clean rooms close to Palenque park but the two CAGED LIONS in the restaurant courtyard tainted my experience. They are obviously well looked after but to see large wild animals kept in a tiny space and in such a false environment simply for guests to observe was incredibly saddening. This is simply unheard of in my country and I found it incredibly cruel. They let out bored groans in the middle of the night which I found quite disturbing. NO CAGED LIONS PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!
