Very convenient central location, newly modernised

Posted Feb 4, 2014
Pros: Central location: smart clean rooms: pleasant staff: free wifi:
Cons: Get rid of those dreadful plastic armchairs in the foyer! Very uncomfortable!
Location: Walking distance to: Alameda Gardens, Palacio de Bellas Artes, Torre Latino, ATMs, Centro Historico.Note the underwear shop 2 doors up the street!
The hotel has recently been modernised, very smart, in the "chrome, marble and mirrors" style. It has lost some of its old colonial atmosphere, but is smart and comfortable nonetheless. We stayed here twice in January, and on both occasions the rooms were clean and comfortable with big screen TV, hot water, hairdryer and coffee maker. Staff were friendly and professional, and although the menu in the restaurant was a little limited, the meals were good. On both occasions, when we arrived, they did not seem to know about our reservation - we were not on the list of the day's arrivals, but this was readily accommodated without problem.

Is modern better?

Posted Jan 21, 2014
Pros: Smart clean room, friendly restaurant staff
Cons: Most of the time, the lift only seemed to work from the ground floor
Location: Central Mexico City - handy to everything - the area seems pretty safe, even in the evening. (I wouldn't wander the streets late at night though!)
Stayed here 3 years ago, when the hotel was in its original form - I think the new "chrome-marble-& mirrors" decor style is somewhat more sterile than the hotel's original atmosphere. Having said that, our room was very smart and clean, and everything worked. The staff are friendly and helpful, especially the restaurant staff. The restaurant menu is still a little limited, but the food quality and service are good.

the air conditioning does not work, (the elevator is not working (they give me a Room in 7th floor), too much noise because the hotel is under remodelation, even the stairs are well lit. the water sinks drain to the floor

There was under construction very uncorfotable

Posted Nov 24, 2013
Pros: till this moment the only thing I like was the location
Cons: To have the whole services available
Location: The center of the city was very close
To find that the reservation was on the wrong day, paying from my pocket, going up nine floors because the elevator was broken, no phone service and no light the experience couldn't be worse

DonĀ“t go there!

Posted Nov 19, 2013
Pros: Only the convenient location
Cons: Wait to finish the renovation to offer services in a proper manner
Hotel is in renovation, which causes dust, heavy noise, elevator breakages and many other inconveniences.

Very central close to a lot tourist spots

The hotel looks really nice downstairs, a very modern ikea kinda way. However the construction going on made it difficult to sleep in, there was only one elevator working and the back side of the hotel shouldnt even have windows as it overlooks a horrible building. The street where the hotel is at very so so. The beds were rock hard to my taste but some people like it that way.

It is in the center

Posted Oct 26, 2013
Pros: Clean rooms well and nice food
Cons: Hopefully the renovation will be soon over
Location: The museum of fine arts is close by and worth visiting
Hotel is under construction, very noisy and dusty. Every night some kind of music, very difficult to sleep. Wi- fi only in the lobby. TV only in Spanish, even news. Shower and toilet are very small.

Good hotel well located

Posted Oct 2, 2013
Pros: The staff' attitude is a value added.
Cons: The rooms could be improved , specially the bathrooms area.
The hotel is very well located, walking distance from Zocalo and main points of interest. This location also allows easy transportation from and to the Airport and main metro stations. Hotel staff is friendly and always ready to help. The hotel is still under remodelling and this causes some noise at morning and afternoons. Rooms are small but confortable.

Never stay there...

Posted Oct 2, 2013
Pros: Just as normal.
Cons: Everything.
Location: The location seems to be good. But too much trafic there.
It said Smoking-room, but actually No-smoking room. There is no Smoking-room at Mexico city. Elevator was broken...quite irritate to stay.
