Eden Roc Rocks!

Posted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: Again, overall, a positive experience - great room, bedding, beach areas, hammocks were great!
Cons: Offer dancing!Add a small store that offers pre-made sandwiches, salads, pastry, drinks, etc. so guests can grab a quick & less expensive bite to eat!
Location: Aside from water sports, not a lot to do besides relax. You have to rent a car or take a cab to get to South Beach, Bayside, clubs, restaurants, shops
My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the Eden Roc hotel and for the most part we had a positive experience. A little pricey but you get what you pay for. I am not sure about standard rooms, but we stayed in an ocean view room and it was fabulous. The view was postcard perfect and situating the bed to look directly at the blue, sunny sky and turquoise water was extremely pleasing. Bedding was super comfy and luxurious. The bathroom was top-notch with my favorite being the whirlpool jacuzzi tub. There are only two restaurants (one under construction) and pool side service so that was a bit of a disappointment and prices were high for drinks and food - although they were high at all of the high-rise hotels in the area and in South Beach. Save up or bring your platinum credit card because you will need it! Having four pools was nice so you can switch it up. Plenty of relaxation and lounging room, towels and chair "covers" were great. It was overly crowded so we always found seats and umbrellas if needed. One negative was having to pay $19/per day for an umbrella on the beach. That should be included in the $21/per day resort fee along with towels, chairs, wifi and in-room water. Bad enough I had to pay for those things, I did not want to have to pay more on top of it! There should be some sort of "convenience" store or shop in the hotel like the one at Fountainbleau. We had to walk (1mile+) or take a cab to liquor store and grocery store to get drinks and snacks.

Confortable hotel, room are spacious, excellent bedding and nice set up. Hotel premices are nice though currently under construction so avoid going untill finished if u want to stay at the pool b/c of serious noise nuisance. Pools are nice, restaurant at the beach, good food and nice staff but quite a long wait for kids. Hotel staff is generally lovely except for a few, especially with kids, its a perk that they give you beach buckets upon arrival, have cups for kids and coloring at the restaurant. The beach is very nice, conviniently located just a few steps away. Downs - check in only at 4, the hotel policy does not allow for late check out even when rooms are available they charge 100 usd per hour after 1pm which seems unreasonnable and petty for such type of hotel. Overall pricey for what it offers - breakfast buffet is 30 usd per person, excellent quality but still over priced, the beach chairs are included in the 24 usd resort charge that is automatically added to your room daily (which again makes the room go up) but the umbrella will cost you 19usd on top again lacking classiness. Restaurant also tasty but overpriced, it does not help that the hotel automatically forces a 18% gratuity for all transactions regardless of what service you got. luggage staff and concierge are not up to the hotel standard and seem to cater more for "beautiful people" than for families. Not the case of restaurant and pool staff who are super nice with kids. Enjoyable but pricey.

So so

Works in progress. Wake up with the noise of the works. Hotel becoming a bit old. Restaurant by the beach is awful: bad food and bad service

Modern hotel with good beach access and amenities

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: Quality of room amenities, friendly valet and hotel staff, free lobby computer access for printing boarding passes and excellent spa massage service
Cons: Pool hours should be opened later than 8:00pm Check rooms regularly for deferred maintenance from customer usage (room has a broken tub faucet)
Location: Access to South Beach boardwalk and beach frontage with chair/towel rentals and food service from Eden Roc food vendors.
Excellent hotel with good amenities, lobby bar/restaurant area, spa services. One of the hotel restaurants was under construction during our stay and noise was within reasonable tolerances. Unfortunately pool hours are only from 8:00am to 8:00pm and was disappointed to have the nice lit pools and hot tubs unavailable in the evening hours after the beaches are closed. Ocean view room was nicely furnished with good attention to quality construction and details. Unit had a walkout balcony with a view of pool and beach front area. Spa massage rooms and service environment was relaxing and modern with maintained modern spa bathroom services within the bathroom suites also excellent. Concierge recommendations were hit or miss depending on who was at the desk. Environment was very kid friendly, even though we were kid-less for this South Beach vacation. Valet parking was timely in not waiting over 5 minutes to get your car with a cooler of cold bottled water anytime you left the hotel.

Bath problems.

Posted Mar 23, 2015
My shower would flood and I called it in about 5 times, but never got anybody up to fix it. Bathroom was not as clean as expected for a hotel like this.

Staying at the Eden rock was very pleasant.however, they have a restaurant next to the pool under construction. Occasionally there was some construction noise but but it did not ruin the experience. The hotel staff were very considerate and a pleasure to be around.
