Great place with a great location for great price!

Posted Mar 18, 2015
Pros: Aside from a great location and friendly staff, the price is what it is. Most places nickel and dime you for towels, resort fees, miscellaneous fees
Cons: Hotels can always be updated but i think i prefer a clean room, friendly staff and prime location at a good price rather than getting gouged.
Location: The location is phenomenal for staying in Miami Beach. Restaurants, nightlife, entertainment and the best beaches are all within walking distance
Wanted, no, NEEDED to escape from the craziness of life. What spot better than Miami beach!? Phenom weather, best beaches, incredible restaurants, great vibe, etc., etc. But where to stay? Christmas can leave you broke!! The Depression sets in….most hotels are not only expensive but nickel and dime you with resort fees, towel fees, internet fees, say hello fees…..i mean good lord :/ The Island House on South Beach saved me! Literally located ground zero on Sobe – a block to the beach, Lincoln road, bars, places to munch, mansion, cameo, kill ur idol, bars, - everything I needed to disconnect and not declare bankruptcy  Ricky (front desk) was the BEST, clean room with a fridge, housekeeper gave me extra towels without asking for a pound of flesh. If ur looking for a good place to lay ur head down, close to everything at reasonable price – I recommend the Island House.

Great location big rooms with breakfast

Posted Feb 8, 2015
I enjoyed my stay at the Island House and would recommended it without hesitation. The room was spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and pleasant. The room was quiet and I slept well. It was a refreshing contrast to other south beach hotels where I stayed previously which had small rooms and were noisy. I would definitely stay there again when I return to South Beach next month.

Be aware and stay away!!!

Posted Jan 29, 2015
Pros: nothing
Cons: staff is not freindly
Save yourself and go to another hotel, smells bad as if they just poison bugs before you came , dirty rooms, you start itching and if you have some sort of allergy you are in great health risk here! On top of it if you already checked-in there are no returns, they "take your money and run away", they do not care about their guests as soon as they got your money, no refunds. Staff is not friendly, greedy and do not want to help!

Disgusting rooms! I have several photos that show the nasty carpet, yeah still in the trash cans from previous guest and soiled drapes. Just not good at all.

Island House Hotel

Posted Dec 29, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff & clean room were appreciated.
Cons: $100 deposit & parking arrangements might be reconsidered.
Location: Lots of restaurants & amusements in Miami Beach. All tourist amenities available.
Room & staff were fine, except for the $100 deposit required. It was refunded but the requirement might trouble other guests as it did me. There is no parking at the hotel, so guests must pay a $20 or more per night parking fee at garages 1+ blocks from hotel. Miami area traffic is horrendous. Highway toll policies are unclear for tourists resulting in excessive fines even when you purchase various toll passes which do not cover all tolls. There are no longer toll plazas to explain the toll system. Your car license is just photoed & you are billed & fined if you do not have the right pass. I feel the system is akin to highway robbery.

You get what u pay for...... close to the beach,

Posted Dec 22, 2014
Pros: Close to beach and resteraunts.
Cons: Condition of hotel, better maintinece .
Location: Close to shops and resteraunts, beach.
We enjoyed the location of your facility to the beach. We were expecting something a little different than what was advertised on deals on South Beach hotels. However, the consumer always gets what he pays for.

Nice area near restaurants and beach

Posted Dec 20, 2014
Pros: Location and price
Cons: Could be a very unique place once renovations are done. It was nothing fancy.
Location: Lots of shopping and restaurants and beautiful beach.
Island house was in a neat Art Deco district in South beach. Needs some upgrades, but for the most part was clean and comfortable. Pleasant staff. Breakfast simple but pretty good. Carpets had just been cleaned, so very strong lemon scent in the hallways. Try restaurants on Espanola Way, really neat experience. Not sure everyone would be satisfied with this motel, but it worked for us prior to sailing on our cruise.

The Island house is great for a reasonably priced get away! The front desk people are super nice and helpful and I would recommend this place for sure. My favorite part is the central location because you really are in the middle of all the fun South Beach action. The only thing that left a semi bad taste in my mouth was when my friend and I woke up (hungover..obviously) we asked if it would be possible for a late checkout. The manager said we could pay $20 for an extra hour LOL we hustled and got out of there in time.. I've stayed at super expensive hotels and super cheap motels and late checkout has always been a cut and dry yes or no.. Not yes for x amount of dollars.. This wouldn't put me off to returning but I'd say that shouldn't be a practice he continues #suggestionbox
