Good choice for the price, friendly staff

Posted Mar 25, 2015
Cons: Toilets had to be repaired twice and breakfast is quite basic.
Location: Espanola Way, cool for going out, 3 blocks from the beach
We were particularly happy about the double deluxe room, which comprises 2 separate corners, so it is almost like everyone having their own room.

LOVED IT

Posted Mar 20, 2015
Pros: The Location and Character
Cons: The hotel is old and needs some renovations, which they are currently working on.
Location: Location is wonderful. Just far enough away from the beach to not be too crazy, yet close enough for an impromptu late night walk.
We absolutely LOVED our stay at the Clay. No this is not a fancy hotel, however what it lacks in glamor it doubles with character. The location could not be better and the staff could not be nicer. If we ever come back to South Beach, we will definitely stay here.

Pros: look, location, overall feel
Location: In the midst of everything. perfect location
We stayed at The Clay Hotel only for one night but it was a good experience. It a cute boutique hotel, location is absolutely perfect. Vallet Parking was very helpful. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Definitely recommended!

Good location

Posted Mar 11, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Don't overbook your rooms and expect people to be happy about being transferred to another hotel.
Location: Walking distance to the beach, shopping, and restaurants.
We booked our room in advance and checked twice to make sure it was confirmed Then when we appeared in the lobby with our luggage we were told they did not have a room for us and would take us over to another hotel several blocks away. Since we had already unpacked our rental car and looked forward to the convenience of being able to walk to restaurants, we were very disappointed. Actually mad is more like it. I was tired and said I was going to sit there until they gave us the room we had booked. So I did and used my IPAD to catch up on my Facebook and email while I was sitting there. The desk person went to talk to someone in the back (supposedly) and then came back and said there was a room we could use. Hmmmmm....what was this all about?

Leuk hotel vlakbij het strand en Espanola Way

Posted Mar 9, 2015
Pros: Hotel ligt aan de Espanonala Way. Vol met restaurantjes. Een drukte van jewelste, maar wel heel erg gezellig!
Cons: Het ontbijt was zeer matig.
Ontbijt is zeer beperkt. Zoek een leuk ontbijt restaurant. Er zijn er genoeg.

Older Hotel

Posted Mar 9, 2015
Pros: This Hotel is older and quaint.
Cons: Rooms definitely need upgrading which they seem to be doing but please separate the guests from it.
Location: This Hotels location is perfect which is why we stayed here
We were assigned a second floor room. We had to walk through and over extension cords and tools as men worked on the lower rooms just below us. Disappointed that we were assigned this room subjecting us to the construction below.

Charmantes älteres amerikanisches Hotel

Posted Feb 28, 2015
Pros: Der besondere Charme
Sehr freundlicher Check in Service. Unerwarteterweise war Frühstück inkludiert, gar nicht schlecht für den Start in den Tag.

What can I say!

Posted Feb 26, 2015
Pros: I liked the fact that it had two separate bedrooms, although they were small. I also liked that the location was close to many restaurants and shops.
Cons: see above comments
Location: Location was great. Lots of restaurants and shops to explore. You could walk 4 blocks to Lincoln Road Mall or about 10 blocks to the beach.
The Clay Hotel is an older hotel with no elevator, as it is a historic building. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It is located beside Espanol Way where there are lots of restaurants and shops. You could walk up to Lincoln Road Mall or to the beach. I found the hotel to be very noisy (rooms not sound proof). There was no Kleenex in the rooms, however, did find some bugs. Free Wi-Fi was a plus though.

Great location

Posted Feb 24, 2015
Awesome location on espanola way. So close to Lincoln road mall and the beach. No frills basic hotel. It was great til they just started adding these extra fees for breakfast and wifi .., no longer a deal in sobe ... And im someone that doesn't mind hearing noise but the noise problem is not bc this hotel is on a busy street.., the noise problem is that the walls are so thin you hear other people snoring .... Which is worse than steet noise or music
