The website and pictures do not do this resort any justice. Request a courtyard villa (those rooms were recently redone) and they are fabulous. One of the best lodging experiences in miami bar none---just like your own littel oasis, but close enough to the action---however, you will not want to leave.

Wonderful experience at Hotel Betsy, the staff are top notch, friendly and accomodating. The location of the hotel is great, directly across from the beach and in walking distance to everything, but in a slightly quieter end of Ocean Drive.

The decorating in this 1926 hotel could not be more interesting. Keeping the best of the old, they transformed it into a work of art.
The staff was cool, efficient. Rooms, get a one king over a 2 king if possible. Rates are great.
Ocean Ave. Is mostly very noisy bars and restaurants on the first floor, the hotel above.
Lord Balfour is one block off the noisy part, just perfect.
I really, really enjoyed this one of a kind.

This hotel is within a 5 minute walk to the beach and very clean and neat. The staff was very professional and helpful. They let us keep our car with them for the day even after we checked out and they were helpful recommending places to eat and visit.
I would recommend this to anyone staying in South Beach.

Let me say that I have never given a review before but felt compelled to write one after staying at the Edgewater. After getting off a cruise that ported in Miami I needed to book a hotel. Although I love the Besty Hotel I was reluctant to stay there because the rooms were small for the rate that I could afford so I booked an Oceanview room at the Edgewater. I proceeded to go to the front desk and ask about an early check-in since I was waiting in Starbucks with my luggage. The guy at the front desk informed me that there was a Superior Oceanview Deluxe room that was available immediately at no extra cost. The room was a one bedroom apartment with 2 bathrooms. They also had a rooftop with complimentary wine from 6-7pm. The only downside that I could see being a problem was the thin walls but other than that I enjoy my stay here and will definatately stay here again.

The Setai offered true 5-star service; however, if you are looking for a hotel with the chic vibe of South Beach as you will find at the Delano, this is NOT the hotel for you. The pools are not populated with beautiful people. It is more family-like with children.

Fantastic staff, eager to help with anything, and to make everything as easy as possible. Two free drinks and breakfast included each day was also a great addition that we were not expecting. Food was excellent too. Would recommend it to anyone wanting a close to the action hotel, with unusual themed decor in all rooms, and only a hope skip and a jump from the beach, the shopping, the restaurants etc.
