We stayed one night to catch a cruise ship. The desk manager was so nice. We were very early, so we only expected to check our luggage and walk around , but he found us a room to go ahead and check in right away. We loved the art deco hotel, and later found out it was in the movie "Birdcage," Our room was comfortable and quiet.

The staff member on duty the night we checked in did not very patience even though I had called and let them know we would be very late due to our flight. The restaurant ordering staff and manager were great. We had ordered pizza and the crust was not fully cooked. They re-did our order. However, all of the other staff was amazing. The evening gentleman on Saturday 3/30/2024 was very helpful in finding a doctor that would come to the room at the hotel for a sick child. I would stay at The Cavalier again.

Perfect location really, right on the beach front, 5 minute walk to the large shopping area, plenty of nice restaurants and bars nearby. Really well kept and ran hotel, zero complaints the entire time I was there, lovely friendly staff. Would stay here again.

This hotel is a dream come true. We had to leave a horrible hotel and the staff went out of third to accommodate us and our last minute request. The vibe was perfect, the full moon and amazing pasta made it all better.

As for our bathroom doors, they are 'barn style" providing style and space. There is a switch that you can use that will lock the door or some have a latch. However, we will have our maintenance come by and make sure that the door closes properly. We do offer fresh coffee in lobby 24/7 that is available to all our guests. We thank you again for providing feedback and we hope you can give us another chance to prove that we are the best boutique hotel in South Beach

Property was in a great location for the beach. Facilities were not great, TV did not work and staff tried to enter the room to clean at 8am! Cleaner also left half an eaten peach in our room! We had breakfast at the hotel once, toast and bacon over done. Eggs barely cooked. Ate breakfast out each day after that.

The only positive thing about this hotel is its location on Ocean drive. For the rest, the hotel is just average, the rooms are very simple and facilities dated (shower, AC, etc). There is one poor chair in the room so if you are two and would like to have a seat at the same time, one of you will be seeting on the bed which is not very convenient. Elevator is very old and needs regular intervention of reception staff to make it work.The decoration of the hotel was certainly gorgeous several decades ago, but clearly needs to be refreshed. The reception staff is friendly and helpful to fix some issues. The restaurant staff is not friendly, have no sens of customer service, the cuisine is of poor quality. Breakfast is included, but of poor quality, served on a dirty tables that waiters do not deem necessary to clean in appropriate way.

Our room was near a rolling metal door on the outside of the building. It scaped against metal and squeaked terribly. 5:00 am it started and after 11:00 pm it continued. It made for very disturbing nights sleep.

I loved the quaint historic charm and ambiance of the hotel. They somehow kept the original elevator and structures but updated them. It was terrific. The front desk person Juan was very accommodating and patient with the parade of continual guests traipsing through the lobby as it was the weekend of the South Beach Wine and Food Festival. The valet was fast, especially considering they had to walk around the block as the main strip was closed due to the event. They had a nice lobby, nice bathrooms, great staff. It was overall a win.

The beds are poor quality. The metal frames make squeaky noises. It is annoying while sleeping. The people in the front desk are not friendly. I asked to print my boarding pass directly from the company web site but he refused.

Staff was outstanding! On site dining was really good too. It's a historic building with a 1930s elevator that was cool, except for the fact that Room 203 shared a wall with it. I could hear every time someone went up the elevator or used the stairs. Aside from never wanting to stay in 203 again, i wouldnt mind coming back.

The elevator is from the 30 era. Not functioning good. My room can hear the up and down squeezing and banging nose all the time. The lobby bar ,eating area are nicely decorated. The guess toilet is pile high with use paper garbage. Poor maintenance. The pro is it is right at the beac and restaurants walking distances. They really need to fix the elevator issues and a thorough deep cleaning of it is needed

We got off to a tricky start with TV not working in one room then blinds falling down in the next but on our third room the staff couldn’t be more supportive and everything was great. Breakfast and seating area lovely only critique would be room sizes are small and certainly if anyone wants to work it would be difficult

This hotel is right across the road from the beach and the beautiful boardwalk. When you pay the resort fee, it gets you access to a beach chair, which we enjoyed relaxing on before our cruise.

Great location. Hotel was nice in the common areas. Rooms were pretty basic and not very high end. Room was a little run down (random broken or damaged things). Also awkwardly laid out. Not very many room amenities even the basic ones you'd expect like a coffee maker. There was a fridge, iron, and blow dryer. AC didn't work very well so it was hot at times. Any noise traveled from the hallway and there were lights and noise from outside our room at night. Hotel staff was average, not the most helpful or enthusiastic. Also asked for a taxi when I was leaving and they called me something other than a yellow cab and I ended up paying more. Also the free breakfast at the hotel was fine, but the service was terrible, maybe the restaurant is better when you actually pay, but inattentive and lackluster at the free breakfasts. For example, I asked several times for a tea and it never came so I just gave up. We actually went somewhere else for breakfast after the first day even though it was free at the hotel. Not the best hotel I've stayed at, but not the worst. Really close to everything in South Beach and the beach itself is right out front. Looks nice enough/good decor, staff did the basics, and the place was pretty clean and it had all you need to survive a weekend , but I'd never stay there again because I know I could get better for the money.

Juan (front desk) gets 5 stars ***** for being an excellent host throughout my stay, and generously accommodating my early arrival. I found the entire staff to be excellent and helpful. (Keep in mind that Miami Beach is like Latin America, so you need to ask for help if you want it.) Kudos to the staff for doing a great job! In other respects(this reflects management), the hotel deserves a solid 3 stars. A $40 per day "resort fee" with no pool or any resort facilities, only vouchers for beach chairs (worth $20 per day max) is a bunch of BS. The included breakfast (pretty simple) was a bonus, but unappetizing. The hotel actually has some pretty good food options, but they are on the menu, and not included in the room price. The best breakfasts I got were the yogurt and fruit, adding bacon and OJ (extras). And really, Cavalier management, disposable plastic cups in the rooms, instead of real water glasses? This is a rip off, not a real hotel!
