Close to the beach but to much noise.Posted Nov 14, 2013
Close to the beach but too much noise all day long. They we making reparations all the time. The people were incredible nice but the hotel not! I also was surprise to have to pay 15$/day extra for the wifi and the ressorts fees because when I book in Expedia normally all this fees ate included, and even you don't use it you have to pay it

Not my normal type of placePosted Sep 8, 2013
Pros: Charm. It was not a cookie cutter room
Cons: Security shutting down party next door.
I was at South Beach on business. The hotel was nice and I appriciated the Art Deco style.. I grew up in South Florida and the building reminded me of the old Florida that is long gone. I under stand that South Beach is a party town and the people in the next room started up about 11:00 pm and kept is going. Who ever they were they were living proof that idiots should not drink. My wife, son and I walked around S Beach and stopped at the hotel bar. wife and I got a bottled beer and son got a can of coke. The bill was $17.50, the hotel also hits you with a $15.00 internet fee. Everywhere we went there was a fee or excessive cost. There should be a sign once you enter Island-Welcome to South Beach, Now Empty Your Wallet.

Dissapointingly bad roomPosted Sep 3, 2013
Arriving at the hotel at 22.00 at night there was no parking anymore available which causes us to park the car 20 blocks away and they put us in a handicap room in between the bar and the gym, outside, not in the hotel building, next to the pool. The room was poorly designed, very simple and bathroom was white and more white with a shower that made the whole room wet. Staff was not very nice, no apologies that it was the only room left, no offer to change the next day. Breakfast is not included and you better have breakfast in the various restaurants around the hotel for better quality and atmosphere. The only good thing about this room was the noice, there was none. And the location close to the beach. But for that there are plenty other options.

I loved staying here! the staff was very friendly. Our room got upgraded to a suite so we were really hype about that. 3 blocks away from the main attraction. I would recommend this hotel to everyone!

Good location, okay hotel.Posted Aug 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
Dorchester hotel is in a good location to be near the beach and the all action on South Beach. But the comfort of the actual stay was not so great. The A/C unit in our room was very old and was not working properly. The room was very stuffy and warm(this is in the middle of August). We notified the front desk with 30 minutes of checking into our room. They said they could not switch us because the rooms were fully booked. The staff were not very helpful in trying to make our stay comfortable. If it wasn't for the stuffy room I would give this hotel a way better review.

Close to nightlife.Posted Aug 21, 2013
Pros: Close to everything
Cons: Hotel staff
Location: Beach, shopping, food
It was an okay hotel. Had a few issues, close to beach and night clubs which was nice. Everything walking distance. Wouldn't stay again.

Great price. Great location.Posted Aug 20, 2013
If it wasn't for the fact that I'm planning on moving to Miami in half a year, I would certainly stay at his hotel again. Everything at the hotel is just as described on their website. Due to an error on their end, they even upgraded my room from a standard double bedroom to a suite (which is just like an apartment with fully functional kitchen) for the same price. Swimming pool is heated and open 24hrs. Parking is a bit limited but there is nighttime security to make sure the vehicles are safe. Overall, an excellent experience.
