Great HotelPosted May 26, 2015
Pros: See above
Cons: Upgrading the rooms
Location: It's a lot to do in Miami. Walking distance to several restaurants and convenient stores.
The Doubletree was nice. I've stayed there several times but noticed this time, it needs some upgrading. It's becoming outdated. The wallpaper in the bathroom needs to be redone. It's starting to peel and some its' age. The sofas in the living room are really bad. The wear and tear is definitely showing and the smell isn't the best. However, the beds in the bedrooms were excellent and great to sleep on. The bar and breakfast buffet was very good. The pool area and fitness center were great, too. The rooms just needs some attention.

Wasted my moneyPosted May 10, 2015
Pros: The food was good and also the service at the pool bar.
Location: Mostly the beach and pool, Walgreens, and a nice gift shop were the only things that were within walking distance.Took a cab most of the time.
Upon arrival my sister and I had booked a room for each of us. We needed to change the rooms a couple of times due to being next to a construction site. I had a balcony she did not so I changed rooms with her. We wanted connecting rooms but told they did not have any. I had called the 800 number and was told they did. The wi find had to be connected everyday and never worked in our rooms. The front desk had to connect us every morning. Not enough to do and took a lot of cab rides. I don't think we will stay there again

Right on beach, ocean viewPosted Apr 15, 2015
Location: Location was great for me, but I was there for business. Easy access to work, great choice of restaurants nearby & short distance to South Beach.
First time trying this place on recommendation from co-worker. Staff was great, friendly. Room was nice and clean. Only issue I had was with sliding door, which dragged, but that's fairly normal in humidity. Would recommend!

Miami getawayPosted Apr 3, 2015 on Hotels
Room was nice but guest service was rude. My total reservation price was $1444 however upon check in they wanted to charge me $1775. I informed the front desk my price on hotels.com was $1444, she apologized and said she had to charge us a $100 deposit that I would get back after check out and I ended up paying $1545. I was upset because I was not aware of this additional fee. On day two I received a second charge on my card for $67,I contacted the front desk whom advised this was a fee for incidentals, the front desk failed to advise me I would receive an additional fee the next day. I've stayed at other hotels before using hotels.com and the price I paid online for those rooms is the price I was charged for at the resort, there were none of these hidden fees. I was not able to talk to the front desk until the evening to find out what they deemed as incidentals. The lady at the front desk was very rude and replied multiple times it was for resort fees, I told her what is considered resort fees finally she advised it is a charge for using the spa, the beach chairs or towels, the bar and other things like that. I was upset because they failed to tell me I would receive this charge even if we did not intend to use those services. We checked out Sunday and I got reimbursed Thursday.

Beach Umbrellas for sale! !!Posted Mar 29, 2015 on Hotels
This hotel did not disappoint, we had a great time. The one bedroom partial ocean view was the perfect size for 2 adults and 2 kids. The only minus was the fee for the resort did not include beach umbrellas. We could use the beach chairs but had to pay $19 to have an umbrella shield us from the sun.

On the beachPosted Mar 28, 2015
Pros: Easy access to the beach.
Cons: The air handler system was loud in the room, and cycled on and off repeatedly.
Location: Location was good. Epicure across the street was excellent. The beach bar at the town pier was also very good.
The hotel is on the beach and in walking distance to restaurants. Staff was excellent. The warm cookies were a treat.
