Birthday trip

It was a nice stay definitely a 4.5 starts hotel. Drinks were too expensive and food was fine. I wish the hotel will offer better service at the pool area. In general was a grate stay. Thanks

This Hotel is nice

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: Concierge was very nice and knowledgeable
Cons: A cafeteria inside the Hotel for people that don't eat huge breakfast buffets should be added to the Lobby area.
Location: The location was nice, a lot of things to do a taxi away, from 10 to 30 minutes ride to other attractions.
Nice Hotel, however there was no air conditioning in the hallways and elevators, that was a turn off. The room was nice with a great ocean view. No gift shop on site with magazines or casual coffee or croissants. Only one Starbucks which was always busy. No Restaurants within walking distance besides the ones inside the Hotel ( one full service and one Cabana by the pool).

OVERALL AMAZING

My first time in Miami and this hotel made my trip even more amazing than it was. The hotel manager Felix was so sweet! The room he gave us had the most perfect view of the beach and the FOUR pools downstairs. The staff was nothing but friendly, always gave us exactly what we asked for. We all said when we go back to Miami that were going to the same hotel and requesting the same room!

First time in Miami didn't like the room

Posted Aug 23, 2014
The day before our arrival I received and email confirming a room on the 12th floor overseeing the bay. The room we got on arrival was on the third floor overseing the building next door. The room had mis-matching lamp covers, furniture was very scratched. Glass door in the restroom where toilet is had long white water marks on it. Restroom floor had yellow stains on it. Wanted to use the pools after being out and about and I was told they shut them down at 8pm so we stayed in our room for the rest of the night. There is an extra charge for you parking your vehicle ($38.00). We were only staying there for one night since it was our first time in Miami so we toughed it out for the night. If I ever go to Miami I will most likely look for a different hotel.

It's an old hotel with renovated old rooms

Posted Aug 20, 2014
Pros: The location is top notch.
Cons: This is one of those hotels that has their hand out for everything. From a $38 a day parking fee to a $21 a day resort fee it's just over the top.
Location: We were there just one day for a wedding.
This is a 50's historic hotel that was renovated a few years ago. It's ok, but it is way over priced for what it is. Room layouts have changed over the past 60 years, but this one is pretty much stuck with what was originally built. It was clean. It was ok. But it's really not a 4 star experience. Our room was a typical hotel room with 2 beds and a bathroom. Nothing special. During the remodeling they applied some sort of wood material that overlapped the corners of the room. Getting up in the middle of the night, in an unfamiliar room, I of course caught my finger on the semi sharp wall corner goint into the bathroom. My wife kept bumping her knee on the bed frame that juts out from the bed. (Usually bed frames are under beds!) We finally had to call to get some pillows to stuff into the corners of the beds to keep my wife from bumping into the corners. This is not a very well thought out design renovation.
