Good for the young, not for everyonePosted Nov 30, 2013
Pros: Location and price are good.
Cons: Bath tub looked like it hadn't been cleaned. The elevator was not working, and it looked like it never would.
The hotel was full of young people, probably students and the like. I guess its location and price are very appealing to them, specially because young people have lower standards and won't mind the small details that can worsen your experience. We had to go up 3 floors to our room carrying our somewhat heavy luggage with no elevator; the room was small and not easy to spread our things in an organized way; the tub looked like it hadn't been cleaned; the guests are active until somewhat late. Perfect for students wanting to party, not so much for families wanting to relax. But then, maybe Miami is not the place to relax... heheh

Great for price and locationPosted Nov 26, 2013
Pros: The people I met were the key points of my trip and made the entire experience a pleasure.
Cons: The price for drinks, and the automatic gratuity charge of 18% regardless of party size. It wasn't disclosed at first.
Location: It's not in the heart of all the action, but close enough. Busses come every few minutes so getting around the city and downtown wasn't an issue.
First, i want to preface this by saying if you are using Google Maps to locate this place, it will send you over 20 blocks north of where it is actually located. I spent forever and a half trying to find it using Google Maps. That being said, once I did find it, I found it to be one of the best experiences in my life. I went on a very rainy and windy weekend, and the staff could not have been more helpful to make me feel welcomed. They provided me with an umbrella if I needed it without cost. The rooms were spacious enough if you wanted to stay in the room, but honestly why would you. The beds were comfortable, but they only provide one pillow. I'm sure they would give you another if you ask, but I didn't (bring another if you want). They provide extra towels as well if you need it, and you don't have to trade it in. Overall, a great place!

Freehand Miami is OK to spend a nightPosted Nov 26, 2013
Pros: Room was clean. Loud music from an outside restaurant went down around 10pm
Cons: Would be nice to have some towels and toiletries such as soap and shampoo in the room. Elevator was not working during our stay.
Location: The hotel is conviniently located at Miami Beach, close to the beach and other atractions.
We stayed at Freehand Miami for one night while returning from Florida Keys. Parking on the stret is free from 6pm to 8am and $1 per hour afterwards. The staff is inviting, lively atmosphere reminds of years spent at university There were no refrigerator or microwave in the room
