Hotel was lovely; however, a hotel inside a hotel is somewhat strange.

Very nice hotel. One of the best, if not the best

Posted May 28, 2014
Cons: Room was not vacuum properly at least on one occasion, and the mini bar was not properly restocked on the first day of my visit. Bed extremely soft!!
Extremely nice hotel, very private, rooms nicely done with all the high tech you can imagine!! Sits on top of the JW Marriott... I have been to all the 5 star hotels in downtown Miami, and this is probably the best, with the Mandarin Oriental being up there too...

Excellent hotel, even better service

Posted Apr 28, 2014 on Hotels.com
I stayed here two nonconsecutive nights. The room was amazing. Fabulous view and comfort including whirlpool tub. Whole room controlled by ipad including TV tilt, and state of the are music. 24 hr room service was fast and delicious. Roof top pool was excellent. Staff went out of there way to accommodate our needs including shopping, restaurant recommendations/reservations and special requests. Staff was willing to do anything asked of them including aiding with flowers, chocolates or other off menu items. After trying another hotel for a night we quickly decided we wanted to come back here. I would look for an excuse to go to Miami just to stay here again.

Nice hotel -- clean but requires maintenance

Posted Mar 24, 2014
Pros: Great location, views, nice room
Cons: Repairs within the room. Service could be much much much better.
Very nice hotel with great views of Miami. Located in the JW Marriott Marquis hotel (3 top floors). Room was excellent -- stylish, nicely appointed and decorated. In comparison to JW Marriott -- Much better finishes and furnishings. B&O electronics very nice -- but a bit dated. Great views of Miami. Our room had several items that were not functioning: B&O speaker was broken, in room safe was locked in the open position -- repairs were not made in our 3 day stay. Do not expect great service, or the staff to speak English.

Super nice hotel and great service, but some basics were missing (no outlets near nightstand, no outlet near computer desk, neither TV had good reception, no place to hang our towel near the shower, etc.)

Waste of Money

Posted Jan 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel was a complete waste of money. We thought we would stay here versus the regular JM Marriot due to it being a bit upscale. We booked a room and did not get the one booked. The rooms are very noisy, you can hear everything people around you are doing. Although the room is nice and modern, there is much to be desired, especially for the price. I would highly avoid this place.

Hear your Neighbors Here

Posted Jan 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel is modern and nice inside, but certainly not worth the price. We stay for an anniversary and were very disappointed. The walls are very thin. We were up all night listen to neighbors. I expect to hear some noise but we could hear everything people were saying. No one wants to hear what other people are doing in their rooms and no one wants people to hear them. For the price you are better staying at the reg JW. Nothing special here. The breakfast is okay and best. When mentioning to management, the could have cared less. Way too many places to stay in downtown Miami. Avoid this place if possible. Unless you want to get to know your neighbors.

Very weird place, would not return..

Posted Dec 9, 2012
Pros: Daniel bouloud restaurant in lobby, very nice
Cons: Extremely noisy air conditioning
Location: Ordinary
The weirdest designed hotel ever. Perfectly nice staff, but the rooms very uncomfortable. Air conditioning sounded like a freight train, so loud it was unreal. Extremely high tech everything in the room to the point of being ridiculous. Bathroom as big as a studio apartment in new york with no bath tub, sink that was so small you could not even wash your hands and no water pressure to speak of in either the sink or shower. No head board on bed so pillows kept slipping down the back, useless telephones and front desk service, they just did not answer the phone. There was no instruction manual in the room...room service menu? Do they have room service? No indication, no answer at front desk, no information at all on the room about anything...how to use phone, how to dial outside line, gym? Other services, a complete mystery...would not return. Jsut sort of silly, the whole place, and as an FYI, this billed as a " boutique hotel" inside a Marriott hotel, weirder still..

A Gift

Posted Mar 30, 2011 on Hotels.com
I did not stay here. This was a gift to my girlfriend and her best friend, while they attended a music festival. I set up billing directly with the hotel and they were very helpful and emailed me the 3rd party billing form, which I faxed back. Her stay was reserved and payment established in less than 30 minutes. She raved about this hotel. The staff was friendly, efficient, accommodating, and exceeded her expectations. She says she had the best spa day ever and the food service was four star. Next time we're in Miami, we will be here together.
