Would never stay there again or recommend. It is very old and run down with zero amenities. It is marketed as historic and quaint which is completely misleading. Awful!

Pros: The location. Staff was very nice. Particularly the young gentlemen at the desk.
Cons: More towels in he rooms. Items mentioned above.
Location: Miracle Mile within walking distance. 15 minute drive to downtown Miami and 20 minutes to South Beach.
I was surprised that there was not the usual items you would normally find in a hotel. No ice machine, no soda machine, no alarm clock in the room, no in-room coffee maker, etc. It appeared to me that the hotel was on serious budget constraints. The hotel was charming and I really like the atmosphere and surroundings. Can't beat the location. Affordable parking directly across the street and walking distance to the miracle mile. Unfortunately for us they had street construction work going on from 9:00 pm to 2:00 am on a Friday night and again on the following Monday night. I'm sure the hotel had no control over this. Not sure why Coral Gables would allow such a thing at this hour.

Pros: decent location. inexpensive.
Cons: renovation. more help
Location: nothing major.
first room had no chair or desk. rugs and fixtures are worn. The place has not been well maintained. The hotel has elements of charm, but needs care and a facelift. they could not cash a $100 check. they did not have enough help to be at the desk and man the difficulty old elevator.

My Excellent Stay

Pros: The very old style 1920s look and it's pristine condition. I love how clean and neat it is as well as very spacious.
Cons: The air conditioning system could be more user friendly and prevalent in the individual rooms. It takes awhile for the air to circulate through.
Location: There are restaurants and shops near by. Miracle Mile is about a block away with lots of entertainment, bars, restaurants. It's in the Coral Gables.
The old style and old feel that Hotel St. Michel has is really great. What really intrigued me was the old elevator system and how the building and facility looks as if it was out of the 1920s. Very clean, the staff is very friendly, the rooms spacious and nice. I never felt bored or uncomfortable. It was very pleasant. I recommend this to anyone who wants to stay in the Coral Gables for an affordable price, and near the city center/Miracle Mile.

All great except Internet

Great stay at Hotel St. Michel, friendly staff and comfortable room. Unfortunately, the only hitch was the free wi-fi, with very poor connection most of the time.
