Great stay on Brickell Key in Miami. Beautiful.

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: Great rooms, nice lobby, good service.
Cons: Pool area can be a bit better
I go to Miami quite a bit and usually stay in Miami Beach - I've never been able to find that GREAT luxury hotel however. They are all just a little bit wanting - either too old, small rooms, so so facilities, or too much noise. So this time I tried something different - the Mandarin on Brickell and boy am I glad I did. The rooms are spectacular. Roomy, super clean and crisp, great bedding, clean and spacious bathrooms. Not to mention the views. You just walk in and smile. Lobby is terrific - we had drinks late night one night at the bar and there were some guitar players who were great. Gym is also nice, good equipment, not too crowded. Only negative was the pool area - pool just seems a bit too small for the hotel and we couldnt get seating at the pool and had to sit at the beach area (which isnt a real beach - just imported sand). BTW, if you do want beach, you have to go to Miami Beach. Overall a great stay.

Excellent location

Posted Mar 21, 2015
Pros: The location was superb. The views from the hotel were lovely and the walks around the island were interesting and relaxing.
Cons: The lounge bar was draughty. Nowhere comfortable to sit and relax inside the hotel.
Location: Location excellent! Good walks nearby. A free local tram to take us around parts of Miami.
Hotel definitely set up more for business guests than holiday makers. Lacked a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.

Hotel heaven!

This is simply a beautiful, luxurious and extremely comfortable hotel. You couldn't ask for more. The staff was courteous, friendly, polite and detail oriented without being formal or stuffy. The service at the pool is just beyond. I would go back in a second.

An amazing hotel

Posted Mar 7, 2015
Pros: Swimming pool and beach, its proximity to downtown and at the same time you feel like you are on a different planet, spa, Peruvian restaurant, staff.
Cons: Can't think of anything, apart from the price, but quality does come at a price.
The Mandarin Oriental Miami is an amazing hotel - excellent location in downtown Miami if you are on business, facilities are great, even has a small private beach great for corporate and private parties, excellent spa, and the Peruvian restaurant offers mouth watering option (try the heavenly octopus and the paiche churriana). The staff is remarkable - on two occasions two of the staff member recognised me from my previous visit 6 months ago, one of them even remembered what I had for dinner (unbelievable). Do not hesitate to stay at this first-class hotel, you won't regret it. In addition to that you can take a walk or run around the key, I do that either before or after work/meetings downtown.

Best hotel in Miami!

Posted Mar 4, 2015
Pros: Everything. Bathroom was my favorite part. And extremely clean!
Cons: Getting around the facility is a bit like a maze. The signage and directions could be more clear.
Location: Resort feel in big-city surroundings.
During this trip to Miami I stayed at the Fontainebleau hotel and Shore Club and then the Mandarin Oriental. The feeling of "vacation" didn't kick in until I entered the Mandarin Oriental. The hotel facility is impeccable, everything is cleaner than clean. The rooms are roomy and comfortable, the bathroom is big, which is a plus when traveling with females. The hotel does not have a beach, but you quickly forget about this. There's a sandy tanning area by the pool that oozes comfort, tranquility, beauty and luxury. The ultimate experience. There are two reasons that I will only stay at the Mandarin Oriental in Miami from now on: Oscar at the front desk and Jorge, the pool/beach waiter. They are both Godsend. Oscar's warm welcome immediately erased any travel stress and he allowed us to place room-service orders with him while checking-in so that our food/drinks would arrive at our hotel room by the time we got up there and settled in. Jorge wined and dined us at the beach - above and beyond. He did not allow us to even lift a finger, always present to take immediate orders, charged our cell phones, offered to take pictures and provided excellent recommendations around town. He's simply the best - he's the Mandarin's best asset.

Good choice for Brickell

Posted Feb 10, 2015
Cons: I would make the beds queen size in double bed rooms.
Location: The sushi is excellent at Zuma which is only 15 minute walking distance from the hotel.
This is a great hotel but below the standards of other Mandarin Oriental hotels I stayed before. The rooms are very clean as you would expect but the size is a bit small. I stayed in a 2 double bed delux room on a high up floor. The view was very beautiful over looking the intercoastal. The beds were quite small closer to twin size. The bathroom felt big but partly because the bathroom counter was very narrow to save space. Overall I enjoyed my stay in this hotel while feeling it wasn't up to the Mandarin Oriental standards at the same time.
