Nice hotel but with renovations going onPosted May 26, 2015
Pros: Excellent location - close to Ocean Drive Good soundproof walls Complimentary beach towels and coffee Room design Small number of rooms (only 14)
Cons: Breakfasts - at least scrambled eggs should be added! Minibar to be replaced with a fridge Outdoor terrace (now closed) Where is vintage pink car?
Location: Nice location - very quiet at nights. Good shops in Collins Av, some good restaurants in Washington Av (1 block away). 10 blocks to Whole Foods Market
The idea that this hotel intends to say is good - smart home design, story about music past and location in historic building. However, it is being renovated and logically hotels get closed for the renovation period. But not Marlin. Sometimes it is annoying to hear construction noise. One day the water was not running in the bath till 3pm due to maintenance but most likely due to facilities dismantling in some of the rooms. The staff at reception changed every day and there was no consistency in what they were saying. For example, one guy said that Nespresso coffee in the room was for $3 a capsule, but another guy next day said it was for free. Taxi we ordered to the airport via the reception the day before did not come and we had to re-order it on departure day. There were three of us in one room but we had only two sets of towels and had to remind housekeeping about the third set every day. Breakfasts are dissappointing - hard bread, no hot meals at all, even coffee and hot water were not hot. The hotel is being transformed (new owners came in April), and may be the new management will fix all issues of the current transition period.

Vincent et FabienPosted May 10, 2015

Spacious and close to Beach!Posted Apr 28, 2015
Pros: Large room
Location: shopping eating beach
My 2 friends and I shared a King bed room with a sofa bed and the room was very spacious. Nice big closet area and nice sized bathroom. I had no issues with the room or outside noise. Once we figured out how to use the ipad to turn everything on/off we were good to go. The room was just very comfortable. Bath robes and slippers were included. Beach towels if you didn't bring one with were also there. Also, it was literally a couple blocks away from Ocean drive! We were surrounded by many shopping stores/restaurants as well. The location was perfect and I would definitely recommend. Th only let down was the free breakfast that was included. Don't expect a waffle iron or anything. A few pastries, cereal, boiled eggs and warm coffee, pretty much. So go elsewhere if you want real breakfast. Otherwise, our stay here was near perfect!

Great hotel - Modern, clean, close to beach.Posted Apr 21, 2015
Pros: Location, cleanliness, friendly staff.
Location: One block away from the beach.
Beautiful modern hotel one block away from the beach. Check in time was listed at 3:00 but we showed up at 11am. They were able to check us in right away no problems. The receptionist was very friendly and recommended good bars/restaurants to go to. The room was very spacious and extremely clean. The whole room is controlled by an iPad. We had a few issues with getting the TV to turn on but they sent a technician right away and solved the issue. There was free continental breakfast for us every morning which included bagels, eggs, cereal, coffee and an array of fruit/pastries. The hotel is one block away from the beach which was very nice. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Clean and bright!Posted Apr 16, 2015
Pros: Small room but clean and bright!
Cons: The bathroom door didn't close and there's no closet
In October, we went to Miami/Key west for 10 night and three nights of it were in Marlin. It was my first time in Miami so I was surprised by how small the rooms were. However, it was very clean and surprisingly very quiet. It is very close to the beach so that was a huge plus! The breakfast was... meh. They deliver breakfast in a paper lunch-box like style - a croissant, orange juice, an apple. It was disappointing becuase the croissants weren't fresh and the apples were bruised. There isn't atmosphere in the hotel so it's a great place to stay if you are looking for a clean hotel near the beach. But for the price, I would want a bit more than that! I would stay here again only if the price was lower (reduce to a third of what we paid), otherwise, I would choose another hotel.

Great place to stay at South Beach.Posted Mar 5, 2015
Cons: Include decaff coffee in the lobby and make coffee available all hours of the day and evening.
Delightful stay. Lovely rooms, quiet. Enjoyed sitting on the patio watching all the activity on Collins Avenue.
