Nice close to metro rail and mall, nice and clean

Pros: The elevators were super fast and we never had to stand there and wait forever for them. I loved the daily housekeeping. Friendly hotel staff!
Cons: Pool area should have a bar! Add a spa too.
Location: Dadeland Mall & Cuban Restaurant at walkable distance. You can take the Metro Rail/Taxi/or drive your car to Southbeach about 25-30 min away.
This hotel surprised me. I have never stayed at a Marriott before, and I actually ended up liking it. I really loved the hotel staff because they were so friendly. All of them! We had housekeeping done every day and had no issues when we requested for it daily. The outdoor and semi indoor pool area was also very nice. It wasn't ever packed which was great. It's a great hotel for those wanting to stay away from the crowd. There is a small bar by the lobby where were enjoyed a drink or two for one of the days we were there. Parking fee is about $20/day for valet but you can come and go as you please. The Dadeland Mall is walking distance. I loved that mall by the way! Also, there is an amazing cuban restaurant right around the corner. We went there for breakfast, and later at night for dinner! This hotel is about 20 minutes from the Miami Airport without traffic and about 30 minutes from Southbeach! We definitely enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Great job staff!

Close to everything and very clean

Pros: location. Nice neighborhood and close to the Mall.
Cons: Nothing. The hotel had everything I needed.
Location: There are a number of restaurants just one block over. It looks like a residential area and the restaurants and discrete so easy to miss.
I stayed at the hotel for four nights recovering from surgery. I had a LOT !! of room service and it was excellent. There is a publix right across the street and Dadeland Mall is two blocks away. This is a nice neighborhood and the immediate area has nice restaurants, a bar and a nice coffee shop just one block over. The staff were wonderful and the airport shuttle was very convenient. Free wifi in the room was fast. Very good hotel for the price and would defientaley stay again. This is not a hotel you want to stay at for a beach vacation, this is definately a shoppers paradise, a good base for exploring Miami or business trip.

Pros: The lobby is excellent. You would think the rooms would mirror it.
Cons: The rooms and late nigh check in staff.
Location: Great location. Near the mall , a Publix, brandsmart, Sports Authority, Best Buy, Michaels and Target
Learnt that if you book on Expedia that you will get crappy room and poor customer service. Was assigned room 1408 originally- dirty carpet and peeling wallpaper. Went back downstairs to check in and asked what I would have to do to get a better room (was willing to pay extra) as that room looked nothing like what was advertised on the website and was dirty. Asked for a change or to go the courtyard. Was told that they can't edit Expedia reservations and if i went to courtyard I had to cancel my own reservation and book at Courtyard myself. When she saw the look on my face she offered room 1512 that only had king bed.Bellman informed that floors 14 and below haven't been renovated and that courtyard was a newer better hotel. Arrived after 9pm and had to haul my 3 bags to the room myself. Only direction given...the elevators are over there. Poor check in staff on the night shift. When I called during the day they were willing to send a taxi, on the night shift they told us to call ourselves. Took forever to send bellmen but didn't want guests to handle the trolleys and then complained that taxis were blocking the valet. 2 bath towels for 2 ppl for entire day. Had to ask the maid for addition towels just so we could bath in the morning. Broken fridge, broken cupboard. Comforter has a stain.. bed was made with it for 3 days continually.

Marriott Miami Dadeland

Very dated decor in rooms and hallways. Rugs and furniture are very worn. Rooms are dark and gloomy. Hotel staff is always nice and welcoming and rooms are clean. Hotel should be updated given the relatively high price.
