Basic B&B, two buses from the beach.

Posted Apr 11, 2014
Pros: Reasonably priced no frills basic B&B. Free Wifi and pool
Cons: One particular receptionist thought it acceptable to swear and curse about her stressful day in front of guests. Other staff helpful and friendly
Location: Good restaurant nearby, and a Subway for quick meal.
The New Yorker is ok if you just want a bed for a couple of nights before going on a cruise as I did. Breakfast self service in the court yard at the rear. Choice of fruit, cereals, bagels, fruit juice and coffee. No shuttle service to and from the airport or Cruise Port. Both about 15 to 20 minutes away by taxi. Fares ranged from $27 to $30

Hotel was appropriate.

Posted Mar 13, 2014
Pros: Near public transportation and the area was clean and quiet.
Cons: The hotel should have air/heat controls in each room and not be controlled for the entire hotel from one location. Human temperatures vary!
Location: Miami Heat play within 5 miles from here; the cruise terminal is within 7 miles; eateries nearby and a Starbucks is very close.
I arrive in the late hours of the night. The hotel staff was prepared for me and they took care of me immediately. The breakfast in the morning was enough to get you jumpstarted. Public transportation was easily accessible.

Dissappointed

Posted Feb 19, 2014
Pros: Nothing!
Cons: Everything.
Location: There were a few restaurants within walking distance, but did not go to any. Drove to Gulfstream in Hallandale.
The pictures are quite deceiving; it is dingy and not very well kept. Parking was a nightmare as there was no where to park. If it wasn't for the front desk clerk alerting us that she was leaving we would not have been able to park. Very noisy too. The hotel is on Biscayne Blvd which is a very busy street, so throughout the night you here every vehicle that passes. Now I know why they provided earplugs in the room. Not only do your hear traffice outside, but you hear anyone outside and in any room near yours. They had your basic continental breakfast: coffee, tea, OJ, milk, bagels, bananas and cereal. It is set up in the courtyard which could be very nice if maintained. Mildew was obvious on some of the patio furniture and the overall ambiance was neglect. I was very dissapointed, would never return, and would most definitely not recommend it to friends.

Good Location

Check in went o.k. Now for the minus stuff. No cups or glasses in the room. Parking very hit or miss. When the Hotel is full parking is a disaster. IF you return late you will most likely be parking on the street. The breakfast provided is very continental, Bagels - Bananas - Kids cereal - only orange juice. All of the plates and utensils were throwaway. Since the breakfast area is outside, if it rains you are out of luck. The Hunter Fan/Light combination is very strange. The remote turns off the light, but in my room (216) the light kept coming on by it self. I would turn it off and several minutes later there it was again. The only solution was to use the switch by the door. The shower curtain was very friendly. It would not stay away. The air conditioning is centerally located. There is no control in the room. Lastly the bed, while comfortable, had only a sheet and a duvet, and the pillows were so soft that they did not provide much support for your head. The duvet and sheet were too warm and the sheet by itself was too cool. Struggled with this combination all night. Other than the above observations not a bad place.

Place Not To Go

Posted Feb 4, 2014
The only positive was a comfortable bed. No dresser for clothes, no cups or plastic glasses in bathroom, twice they blew our wake up call, a/c centrally controlled no thermostat in room to adjust to your liking , harsh lighting, feather Ikea pillows not good for allergies, linens not changed just straightened. Would not recommend to enemies!!!if we hadn't prepaid would have changed the first night regardless of cost. Figured tough to get refund

Close to American Airlines Arena

Posted Jan 31, 2014
Pros: Close to the sports arena
Cons: When we arrived, office was dark, sign in window said "No rooms available" I almost did get out of car.Lights should be left on.
Location: Nothing nearby
Arena was easy to find from the hotel. Soap rack had build up of old soap. I left it in the sink upon check out in hopes that maid would clean it. Ice bucket was in room, but no cups, glasses or kleenex, or wash cloths in room.

Love this hotel

Posted Jan 23, 2014
Pros: Beds are very comfortable, staff is friendly and helpful
Location: Location is convenient to most areas of Miami.
We stay here every time we are in Miami (2-3x a year). The beds are amazingly comfortable, the staff is always super friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean! They also supply really nice toiletries (Bath & Body Works type stuff). I plan to continue to stay here whenever we cruise.

Not safe at night

Posted Jan 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
My flight from New York arrived very late, we checked in at 3 a.m. Our cab drive warned us that it wasn't a safe area but it was a good price for one night and it looked clean in the picture. There were a lot of shady characters hanging around the hotel so I don't advise going outside to the store at night. The room was neat and clean enough to sleep in for the night but I wouldn't use the shower, just didn't look clean enough.
