terrible experience

Posted Jan 5, 2015
They don't even provide parking for customers. Only very limited street parking near the hotel. Then you have to park you car with 20 minutes walking away. The room is small and very terrible smell.

Great Location - Zero Amenities

Posted Jan 5, 2015
Pros: great location, clean comfortable room, nice front patio
Cons: everything outside the rooms: lobby, staff, elevator, etc.
Location: convenient but very bad traffic - great hotels parks, and beaches in walking distance
I booked this hotel because I was vacationing in the area and my sister works at the Thompson, but they had no rooms. I am not picky but I was disappointed in the fact that this hotel had absolutely nothing to offer other than a clean, comfortable room. The reason this was an issue was because Expedia listed the parking fee as $30. That was fine by me but it does not mention that the hotel does not actually provide parking so you need to park in the street, go to a garage 5 blocks away, or bribe a valet at a nearby hotel (the Cadillac charged me $50) that does have a garage. So that was an extra $20 and an hour of mangled rush-hour traffic and confusion figuring out a solution. If the staff could have understood me when I called and explained in English it would have been much less stressful. Best bet is to arrive at a time when you can secure street parking. Other than a Subway in the lobby and a pleasant front patio for people watching, this hotel has nothing to offer outside of the rooms. If you've got fun things planned in the area that don't require driving, this is a great location. But you beter be okay with noisy guests, a clanging HVAC system, and a super slow elevator. If you want anything at all, and I mean anything - they couldn't even provide a toothbrush for my daugher - understand that the Ocean Spray staff and facilities are useless.

Reasonable price but no parking

Posted Dec 23, 2014
Pros: Reasonable price.
Cons: Rent garage space somewhere. Put in a small grocery supply instead of the subs. Skip the linen changes for environmental reasons.
Location: Only one restaurant nearby, a block walk down the street.
The most shocking part was that the hotel had no parking`` told us to find a place on the street! Really? With an evening check-in, that was a challenge. As was staying away from street parking during the day, as the price was $1 an hour, with no guarantee that a place would be available on return. (Street parking was free after 6:00 PM.) The other disappointing thing was no real food, just a Sub shop adjacent to the lobby. No help with luggage, but the sheets were changed every day. A little unbalanced in the service department. The desk clerks were friendly, though, which made the stay bearable.

Close to a business area

Posted Dec 16, 2014
Pros: Rooms are large so you can exercise indoors
Cons: Tv was poor located
Location: It's not in front of the beach. You have to drive a few minutes to get to the beach. but there is business área a few blocks away
The hotel is nice, clean and in a fancy area. There is a subway restaurant indoors. the staff was friendly and ready to help. Just had a few trouble with the telephone. The one in my room didn't work

Teilweise undfreundliches personal. Störendes Subway-Kette in der einganslobby. Keine Parkplätze .

All of the walls in the hotel are paper thin so you hear mumbling in other rooms, noises from the elevator, and people using the shower next to you and on other floors. I was there during the off-season in the middle of the week and on a Monday night some other guests on my floor had a little party in their room. I ended up having to call the front desk to have them tell the other guests to quite down. Needless to say I was able to come close to falling asleep even after management came and told them to be quiet. For some reason noise just travels really well in that hotel. There is a Subway in the lobby. That can be good in the case that you need cheap food quickly. It's also bad because the lobby and first floor smells like Subway. I won't be staying there again, because you can find nicer hotels for just $10-$20 more per night, which is worth it after not getting much sleep at all for two nights in a row.
